I grew up around Great Danes, so I am very comfortable with large, high energy dogs and understand how to handle them with confidence and care. I also spent time helping my grandmother train service animals, which gave me a strong foundation in patience, consistency, and reading a dog’s behavior. My first job out of high school was as a vet tech, where I gained hands on experience with animal care, health basics, and staying calm in all kinds of situations. Since then, I have continued dog sitting regularly and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs, whether that means going on long walks, keeping them engaged, or just making sure they feel comfortable and cared for. Overall, I bring a mix of experience, attentiveness, and a real love for being around dogs.

I have a large fenced backyard, experience with crate training, and a large indoor space for your pet to move around comfortably and at ease.

Alera took such thoughtful care of my dog, Gum, who is an older, shy pittie mix. I was a little nervous leaving her, but Alera was incredibly attentive and flexible with everything Gum needed. She has a really calm, gentle way with dogs, and it made a big difference. Gum was comfortable with her in a way that takes time, and it was clear she felt safe and cared for
Stevie is a very sweet, energetic boy, so leaving him with someone else felt like a big step at first. Alera made it easy. What stood out most was how at ease I felt while he was with her, I didn’t feel the need to check in or worry. When I came back, he was happy, calm, and clearly comfortable. I’d trust her again without hesitation!
Richard is not exactly an easy dog..he’s high-energy, a little unpredictable, and definitely has his own way of moving through the world. So having someone who can step in and genuinely handle that has meant a lot to me. Alera has helped by walking him during my long bakery shifts and watching him when I’m away, and she does it with a calm that really suits him. One thing I’ve especially appreciated is how she keeps me looped in. She’ll send little photos and updates from their time together, and it’s made it much easier to be away without worrying. I’m really grateful for all the ways she’s made things easier for both of us.
Alera has been watching my cat Jinx and my doodle Penny on and off for years, and I trust her completely. She’s super reliable and really easy to communicate with, which makes a huge difference when I’m away on work trips. She’s genuinely caring, pays attention to their needs, and they both love her. Honestly, when I come home they just look at me from the couch like… “oh, it’s you.” Which, hey, pick your battles.

Schedule
I currently work full-time, with Sunday through Wednesday fully open. I am also available after 4 pm on Thursdays, and before 10 am or after 8 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Prices include all fees.
