Availability
Since I work from home, I would be able to spend plenty of time with your furry friend(s). Whether they want 24/7 attention or are more independent, I can follow their lead. I work a normal remote schedule M-F. My own pets (two elderly kitties) are pretty high maintenance, so I’m used to a pet needing some special attention, and can’t wait to give your pet the love and care they deserve!

As a house sitter, I take safety very seriously. My own animals would of course be cared for at my home by my partner, so I can spend as much time as needed at your home. I’m more than happy to walk your pets on local roads or trails, depending on what is safest, and strictly walk dogs on a leash (or leash and harness, depending on what you already use). I take home safety very seriously as well, and would ensure your home is cared for during my stay. I’m also accustomed to sneaky pets who may try to slip out the door - I am almost obsessive with checking that a pet isn’t following me out the door, so you never need to worry about your pet getting loose!

A typical day
I would love to learn about your pet’s favorite games and play with them! If your dog likes to go run around in the park and play fetch, I’m game. If they’d rather lounge on their bed all day and occasionally pick up a chew toy, that’s totally fine, I’ll read their energy. All animals need some level of mental stimulation throughout the day, so I’ll tailor activities to your pet’s energy levels to make sure they’re having fun!

Pet care experience
I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. Since I grew up with large dogs, I learned very early in my life how to read an animal’s body language - extremely important to know the difference between “please pet me” and “leave me alone”! I’m experienced in caring for both dogs and cats of all ages. I have delivered several different types of medications before, and would be glad to learn about any special care your pet may need!!

Alena was such a great cat sitter for our two fur babies. Our kitties, Kona and Jazzy, warmed up to her quickly, even our stranger danger kitty (who usually takes days). The daily photos and occasional videos were wonderful, and it was so great to know someone was here with them. Easily a 10/10 stars!
Alena was fantastic! Both Murphy and Maverick absolutely enjoyed their time with her and the house was in better shape than we left it. 5 stars!
