COME PLAY AT “BUDDY’S RETREAT”
Meet us, Christine and Alejandro! 👋 Christine (Mom): As a lifelong dog lover, I have cared for many dogs over the years, including rescuing senior dogs and it is my plan to stay connected with animals in my retirement. I spend my days with our current fur baby, Suki, playing fetch in the yard, going on walks, and doling out endless belly rubs. My gentle, nurturing nature, and full-time presence ensure that every pup in my care will always feel loved and well-attended! Alejandro (Son): Working from home means I get to be surrounded by the animals I’ve adored my entire life. My first dog, Buddy, inspired the name of this space; it was Buddy who first enjoyed all the comforts of the totally fenced in large backyard and cozy home. My calm and attentive demeanor makes me a great match for dogs of all personalities, from playful pups to senior companions. Together, we bring years of experience handling everything from casual walks, active and gentle play, to administering daily medications. Your pup will be in caring, capable hands with people who truly love spending time with dogs. THE SPACE Main House + Backyard Welcome to our dog-friendly haven! The main house is where Christine, retired, active, and a big-hearted dog-lover, will spend her time with your furry friends. This is where the pups will be primarily hanging out when not outside. (Second space available-see below) The side door stays open all day, giving dogs the freedom to roam in and out as they please. The spacious fenced in backyard is a paradise for play, with sunny and shaded (large sun sails & umbrellas) spots perfect for lounging. Water bowls are placed throughout, and our own pup Suki, loves relaxing, romping and playing in the open space. With Christine always present, your dog will have constant companionship, plenty of care, and the perfect blend of indoor and outdoor fun. Back Apartment + Backyard The back apartment is a cozy retreat perfect for lap dogs or older pups who enjoy a quieter pace. Alejandro, a joyful dog lover, works from home and ensures the dogs have plenty of attention and a calm environment. With comfy dog beds, a couch, and even a human bed to relax on, this space is ideal for dogs who prefer snuggles and lounging over high-energy play. The backyard is easily accessible for regular potty breaks, gentle play, and roaming. Alejandro is always on hand to provide love and care throughout the day. Christine was awesome! My little boy has severe separation anxiety and I needed someone like her to care for him. I worried he wouldn't eat, or worse drink. Christine made sure that he did both. He wasn't touching the food I sent, so she fed him some chicken which was a treat for him. Christine gave him love and attention and I so appreciate it. If I do need to leave him again, she'll be my first choice!
My dog loves it here! Excellent care, super responsive, and really kind people. He always comes back refreshed and starts wagging his tail blocks away when we’re headed there for drop off. Highly recommended!
My family and I have just moved to LA and I was really keen to ensure we found the right boarding care for our 12 year old dog. From the moment our boy met Christine he was smitten. Christine is such a natural dog person and understood him from the beginning. She gave him so my care and attention and we got super updates and photos whilst we were away. I can wholeheartedly recommend Christine so much so we have booked again for our boy to stay with her. Finding the right boarding environment was one of the main things I was concerned about but I am happy to say Christine and her home are the best for our boy.
This was our first time using Rover for our German Shepard, Axel and Buddy’s Retreat could not have made the experience more perfect! Christine was warm, thorough, and welcoming at our meet and greet. Easing any of our concerns and giving us a run through of a typical day. Drop off was quick and easy- Axel immediately felt at home! The updates were frequent with lots of happy puppy pictures from playing with the other dogs, numerous games of ball and snuggling in his bed. Our pup can even be a finicky eater and they were kind to try different treats to entice him to eat. Upon pickup Axel was the most calm I’ve ever see him after a time away from us. All this to say- Axel would be thrilled to go back! We highly recommend Buddy’s Retreat.
Mochi had a great stay and got lots of love! Would recommend Christine as a sitter to anyone!
Christine and Alejandro are absolutely amazing. Jasper loves staying there. And Christine is so generous with the long walk she takes him on. Amazing communication, tons of pictures, real flexibility, and she does this full-time so she’s nearly always available. Highly recommended.

Schedule
We are around ALL DAY, your pups will always have a human companion next to them! Our day will be entirely centered around your pup. Our life is DOGS!

Safety, trust & environment
Your dogs will be watched the WHOLE time and never be unsupervised. The surrounding 6 1/2-7 ft tall fences ensures there will be no escapes even for the most athletic dogs! We are on call all day for any questions or concerns. We want you to feel comfortable with leaving your furry family member here!

A typical day
During the day we will either be inside playing, or outside playing! We love to do what the dogs want to do. If they want to lounge, we will lounge. Play? Let’s play!
