I’ve always had a special connection with animals, but adopting my dog, Chica, taught me just how important it is for a pet to feel safe, understood, and at home when their family is away. Because Chica experiences separation anxiety, I understand how difficult it can be to leave your dog and wonder if they’re feeling stressed or lonely. That’s why I offer a quiet, home-based boarding and daycare experience where I care for only one family’s dog(s) at a time. My goal is to provide personalized attention, a peaceful environment, and a routine that helps each dog feel comfortable and secure. Chica is a small senior dog with a calm personality. She is used to sharing her home with other dogs and cats and is respectful of dogs who prefer their own space. Her relaxed nature helps create a comfortable environment for dogs who may be nervous or overwhelmed in busier boarding settings. I have experience caring for anxious dogs, senior dogs, puppies, and dogs who need oral medications. Before each stay, I like to learn about your dog’s personality, routine, feeding schedule, and any special needs so I can provide care that feels familiar and consistent. I also know how important it is for you to stay connected while you’re away. I’ll send regular photo updates so you can see how your dog is doing and have peace of mind knowing they’re being well cared for. If you’re looking for a calm, personal alternative to a crowded boarding facility, I’d love to meet you and your dog. I’m happy to arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand so your dog can meet me, Chica, and get comfortable in the space.

My partner and I joke that Alejandra is like Cinderella - my dog Henry is afraid of everything on earth but Alejandra was able to coax him to come to straight to her the first time she met him. I work from home so Henry is used to a lot of attention but when I am not able to be there I trust Alejandra with my pet and know she will be reliable and communicative - she's a lifesaver and I don't have to worry when she's there!
She is the best, my 3 Mexican hairless dogs bonded with her right away, even my turtle that is shy. I cannot express how grateful I am with Alejandra. She is the best! Definitely I would love to book her again in the future.
Ale cares for animals like she cares for her friends, family, and her own pet, who is a rescue pup - with patience, kindness, and great care. Ale is a professional animal caregiver; she is attuned to them and their needs. Ale walked my mom’s dog, who is also a rescue and is easily anxious with new people. Her energy is calm and she is a reliable and caring person. I highly recommend Ale as an animal companion and care provider. She also has a great sense of humor and this goes a long way! Alejandra took care of my extra large giant Komondor breed for a whole month while I was away this summer. He is a 12 year old deaf Komondor with dementia who isn’t friendly with most but her compassion and love for animals was felt and she connected with my dog right away. I let her know how needy he is of attention, affection and how important his walks are for his wellbeing… the entire time I was gonna she would send me photos of them spending time together resting and on their walks and the entire time I was gone I had no anxiety about his well being. When I returned that was validated as I felt my dogs demeanor… he was so chill and happy and both him and I were so thankful for her love and care!

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I already organize my days around my own dog, Chica. Since she has separation anxiety, we make sure someone is always with her, which means guest dogs also benefit from having companionship throughout the day. I have a flexible schedule and only care for one family's dog(s) at a time, allowing me to give them my full attention and adapt to their routine whenever possible. If I ever anticipate being away for a short period, I will always discuss it with you beforehand so we can make sure it works for your dog's needs.

Safety, trust & environment
I live in a quiet first-floor apartment with a small fenced patio. For safety, any time spent outside on the patio is always supervised, and dogs are kept on a leash unless we've agreed otherwise. If you prefer that your dog doesn't use the patio, I'm happy to follow your preferences. I tailor each dog's routine to their individual needs. Whether that means quiet walks, extra potty breaks, or more time to explore, I'm happy to adapt to what makes them feel most comfortable. If your dog enjoys getting out, I can also take them to nearby parks, and I regularly enjoy spending time in nature with my own dog. Above all, I want your dog to feel safe, relaxed, and cared for while they're with me. I'll follow your instructions closely, keep you updated with photos, and make sure both your dog and Chica are comfortable throughout the stay.

A typical day
Every dog is different, so a typical day will depend on your dog's personality, energy level, and routine. I believe the best care comes from respecting what each dog is comfortable with rather than putting them into activities they're not used to. For most dogs, the day will include walks, potty breaks, time to relax at home, gentle play, and plenty of affection. We also have a small fenced patio where, with your permission and always under supervision, your dog can enjoy some fresh air. If your dog enjoys quiet companionship, they're welcome to curl up nearby while I work, listen to relaxing music, or simply enjoy a peaceful day at home. If your dog has a favorite game, exercise routine, enrichment activity, or special needs, I'm happy to discuss it before their stay and, whenever possible, incorporate it into our day. My goal is for your dog to feel safe, comfortable, and at home while they're with me.

They don't need to be playful or outgoing, but they should be able to comfortably and safely share space with another calm dog. Please let me know about your dog's personality, daily routine, any fears or anxieties, medical needs, favorite activities, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. The more I know, the better I can make their stay feel like home.
