Pet care experience
Happy Tails when your away
Hi, I’m Ale, a Colombian photographer and animal lover 🐶🐱 🌍 My journey has taken me from Colombia 🇨🇴 to Australia 🇦🇺 and New Zealand 🇳🇿, where I’ve built experience as a dedicated and caring pet sitter along the way. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their owners are away. I’ve gained hands on experience caring for pets in different homes and environments, always focusing on keeping their routines consistent and giving them plenty of attention, affection, and playtime. I’m also Certified in Dog First Aid, so I’m prepared to respond calmly and responsibly in case of any emergency. As a professional photographer, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to work remotely on editing while providing attentive companionship to your pet throughout the day. I enjoy quiet, cozy time with animals while I edit, and I love incorporating walks, play, and enrichment into their routine. At home, I share my life with Ziggy 🐈⬛, my 5 year old rescue cat who keeps me grounded and constantly surrounded by animal love. (Don't worry about him while I'm away, he has his spare human, our roommate)

I live in a cozy 2 bedroom flat, with wather views with my amazing roomie who also take care of ziggy when I’m at work. We try to keep our place not only nice and clean but also fresh. We have plenty of walking areas around. 🦮🐕🦺🌿🍃
Ratings and reviews
I’m so grateful to Alejandra for taking such good care of my big baby, and my home, for 10 days. This is the third, and longest, sitting and we received videos and updates throughout our time away. Alejandra was always responsive and very attentive to all of Harley’s needs.

Aleja is a treasure. She took such good care of my boy. She communicated throughout her stay with him soy that I had nothing to worry about. Of course I'll ask for her help again!

Ale always does a great job of taking care of my dog, who is special needs. She goes above and beyond in her daily care and also provides extensive updates and pictures every day.

Aleja was hired to care for my three mini‑poodles while I was in the hospital. Despite a detailed care plan, a meet-and-greet walkthrough at the location where she was to sit the dogs, a backup sitter on standby, and clear instructions about medication and crate use, Aleja left the dogs unattended after only two hours, did not give one of my poodles her prescribed antibiotics, and failed to follow basic safety protocols. Details Late Arrival – The booking was scheduled to start at 4 PM on Nov 30 (or 8 AM on Dec 1). Aleja arrived at 12:36 AM on Dec 1, more than 8½ hours later. Meet‑and‑Greet – The two cameras (living room and bedroom) were already installed and clearly visible. Aleja made no comment about the cameras or any concerns about the dogs during this visit, indicating she was aware of them. Failure to Follow Instructions Medication: My poodle's post‑spay antibiotics (twice daily) were never administered. Crate Management: Aleja did not crate two of my poodles; both were left roaming freely throughout the home. Safety: She left the bedroom door open and unlocked, allowing unrestricted access to every room, contrary to the safety instructions. Camera Tampering: She turned off the living‑room light (rendering the camera blind) and later disabled the bedroom camera, eliminating any visual record of the dogs’ condition. Abandonment – After roughly 2 hours (around 2 AM), Aleja left the house, taking the key with her and providing no supervision for the remainder of the night. This left one of the poodles, who had been spayed two days prior, isolated in a crate, stressed, barking continuously, and without medication—creating a serious health risk. Communication Issues – Multiple confusing messages about key hand‑off and the booking dates added to the chaos. Despite my attempts to clarify, Aleja’s responses were inconsistent and unhelpful. Conclusion Aleja’s conduct is a clear breach of Rover’s Sitter Conduct Policy and the basic duty of care owed to a pet owner. She left the dogs vulnerable, failed to administer essential medication, and provided no supervision for the majority of the booked period. I cannot recommend Aleja to anyone seeking reliable, responsible pet care. Recommendation to Rover Issue a full refund of the total charge for the three‑day booking. Review Aleja’s profile and apply appropriate disciplinary action (suspension or removal) to protect future pet owners.

Aleja was amazing! I can't recommend her enough. 5 stars.

We are so lucky to be able to rely on Alejandra while we are away. She takes the best care of our little girl, Harley, and of our home. Thanks to her we have peace of mind whenever we need to be away.
