I have been pet sitting for more than half of my life. I have decided to attend graduate school and I will have a hybrid schedule allowing me vast flexibility in my weekday schedule for drop ins and dog walks. Drop in visits would include letting them out to relieve themselves and a minimun of 30 minutes for attention and play. When I am hired for dog walking we would need to discuss your dog's specific needs and abiility. I will also be available for overnight pet/house sitting for weekends or vacations. While pet sitting we can negotiate walking or other activities in addition to feeding and medication administration. I really look forward to meeting your pets and you and having fun building a relationship with your furry friends.

I really enjoy working with animals as individuals and making myself a safe and trusted person for them. I like to bring a bag of novel dog or cat toys to help us break the ice and begin forming our relationship. I am very aware of the need for doors and gates to be closed and locked to keep your pets safe. I have developed a questionnaire we can go over at our first meeting such that I can be aware of any particular safety hazards in or near your home. We would also discuss any challenges or medications your pet requires.

This is precisely what my questionnaire is designed to do. It will allow clients to express to me anything that is important for me to know in caring for their pets. Further, it provides a written record so that I can refer to it before each visit and remind myself of any important information that is crucial for me to know.
A typical day
This is part of getting to know each individual pet and forming our relationship. Our relationship will direct what it is we do together. For example, if your dog is ball obsessed we would spend a lot of time outside throwing a ball. If your animal is a small senior that loves laying on the couch and getting belly rubs then that's what we would do. For me, as a pet sitter, it is all about me getting to understand what brings your pet joy.

Pet care experience
In the past 15 years I have cared for dogs from 7 week old puppies to 16 year old seniors. I've handled training needs of puppies and medication and palliative care for seniors. My experience is primarily with dogs but I've had many opportunities to care for cats.
