Availability
I am currently working part-time (mostly short shifts during the middle of the day) & have few time commitments these days otherwise, so I have ample time for dog walking, play dates, & pet/house sitting — both on weekdays & weekends.

Safety, trust & environment
I am currently only able to offer care at clients’ homes, but when doing so, it is my goal to treat their spaces & pets with the same respect that I would treat my own with. Respecting & honoring one’s personal space & privacy is very important to me, as is communication. I believe that caretaking work of all kinds is an absolutely vital part of community & I take that responsibility seriously.
Information Alayna J. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know what medications (if any) & food servings your pet needs. For dogs: how often your dog typically needs to go outside, preferred distance/time of walk, whether your dog does well with other dogs or strangers, & any other important information you feel is relevant. For cats: in addition to medications & food, whether your cat has a history of aggression towards strangers in their space (i own a cat myself & will probably smell like another cat).
A typical day
I will bring dogs on walks around the local neighborhood & spend some time playing with them & giving them attention indoors. For high energy dogs, I will discuss the option of longer walks/hikes or going to the dog park for fetch — but only if the dog is used to interacting with other dogs. For cats, I will check their food & litterbox, entice them with treats if they are shy, & play with them with their toys if they are social.

Pet care experience
I am a pet owner myself & grew up taking care of a whole menagerie of pets on a hobby farm throughout all life stages, so I am very experienced in pet care. More recently, I started offering pet sitting services to friends & family, but I am hoping to expand to more clients via Rover. I have experience with the needs of both young & old pets as well as high-needs pets. Generally, I am one of those people whom animals tend to love — &, of course, I love them back! I treat clients’ pets & spaces like my own. In addition to dogs & cats, I can also tend to other critters & even backyard chickens! I am also very experienced in taking care of plants, so I’m willing to offer this service as well for house sitting clients.

Reviews
Absolutely wonderful!! Very pleased with her care. Kept in touch to reassure me. Fur friends happy, fed, and healthy. Thank you!!!

Alayna was so sweet with our elderly cat. She provided thorough updates and lots of love and care.

After meeting with Alayna, I was confident that Smokey would be well taken care of. It was easy to communicate with her and she sent pictures at my request. She was flexible when my plans changed, hope to use Alayna again’

Alayna took great care of our cat, Tiny! We will definitely book with her again!
