OVER 25 YEARS EXPERIENCE! I have experience looking after cats, dogs, chickens, fish, bunnies. I lead with my heart and am somewhat of an animal communicator. Your animals will be well-loved while you are away. I have worked with some animals who would be considered seniors, requiring medication including insulin injections.

I care for your pets in your home. Feeding, brushing, cleaning cat litter, dog walking, playtime etc, as well as keeping your pets on the same sort of routine that they're used to,or as close to it as possible. :). Please note: I do not offer doggy-doo yard cleanup services but can suggest some good local businesses that you can use :) Wifi / electro-sensitive /scents. For myself - one thing that might be important for you to know is that I turn off wifi wherever I am due to being very sensitive to it as it gives me headaches. This is an easy process and I just plug my old-fashioned ethernet cable in to your modem. However if you have absolutely necessary things in your home that need wifi - we will need to discuss our options. Most homes do not and this normally doesn't affect anything/anyone. I turn the wifi back on before you come home. Please no scented stuff in the home while I’m visiting - Thankyou! 🙏 To note: My partner lives in Ontario but often is visiting so he may or may not be with me on a sit - I will always let you know if he will be there. He is a lover of animals, very clean and trustworthy and is handy! He is a musician who has played with Kim Mitchell for 42 years - so usually he is away touring. I will see if I can add a picture of him here. Normally it is just myself who will be sitting - though I do have a few select people that I work with as my “second” who can fill in if there’s an emergency. Over the years I’ve found it a good idea to have backup. I’ll always let you know if I’ll call in help. This is rare …. Usually for emergency or if I’m called away last minute for something .

Alara was amazing with our dog Sammy! Sammy is a very anxious dog and Alara has a very calming demeanour and Sammy reacted very positively to her. She took him for walks every day and sent us many pictures. We were gone 10 days and I was concerned as we had never left him with someone he doesn’t know. I wouldn’t hesitate to have Alara stay with Sammy again!! 5 ⭐️ for sure!!
Alara stayed in our home and took care of our senior kitty for five weeks. She took very good care of our high maintenance girl including giving medication twice daily and multiple daily feedings. We came home to a happy kitty and a very clean house. We highly recommend her services!
Alara was great with house sitting and caring for my two senior cats, one of whom needs twice daily insulin injections. I came home to two very chill kitties, and a home that was kept very clean and in order. I really appreciated it and I would have no hesitation in booking Alara for the next time we go away and want to feel at ease with leaving our pets.
Alara left our home clean and tidy and we came home to a happy kitty!
Alara was a lovely sitter for us and our 3 cats, and 4 fish! The house was immaculate and our animals were happily sleeping in their spots when we came home. We would be happy to have Alara come and sit for us again!
We went away for the 1st time in many years, so we were anxious of course about leaving our dog and cat. We met Alara a couple of weeks before our trip.. Alara was wonderful, she kept us informed of the house and sent us pictures of both the animals. The house was very clean and everything looked great when we returned Our dog was walked regularly and very happy. I would highly recommend Alara, I will definitely ask her again to look after things when we go away next year.

Schedule
I work mostly from home and so will be around a lot for your animals. I like to get some daily exercise so taking Fido for a walk is no problem! I do my best to work with a pets schedule for the most part ie: breakfast, nighttime rituals etc. Though I live in Vernon I am available to travel to you through out the Okanagan and Shuswap - and beyond as well if I can arrange it! Please just ask :)
