I’ve been pet sitting for over 10 years, with experience caring for animals across Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley, Fairbanks, Denver, and even Adelaide, South Australia. I also have lifelong experience with both dogs and cats and have cared for pets of all personalities and life stages, from anxious rescues and high energy pups to seniors who need a little extra patience and a gentler touch. I’m comfortable administering oral medications and injections, and I tailor my care to each pet rather than expecting them to fit into a one size fits all routine. I pay attention to their normal schedule, personality, comfort level, energy, and any instructions you leave for me. For walks, I believe the experience matters just as much as the mileage. I give dogs time to sniff, explore, and engage with their environment while keeping their safety and individual needs in mind. If your priority is covering the maximum possible distance in a set amount of time, I may not be the best fit, and that’s okay! My goal is a safe, enriching, low stress walk your dog actually enjoys. I’m equally happy caring for cats and small animals and understand that good care sometimes means giving an animal space rather than demanding their attention. I respect established routines and let pets warm up to me at their own pace. My experience with animals has even taken me to a kangaroo rescue in South Australia, where I had the unforgettable opportunity to hand feed kangaroos. Whether your pet is outgoing, shy, energetic, elderly, or somewhere in between, I want them to feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. They’re family, and I care for them accordingly.

Safety, trust & environment
I prioritize your pet’s safety and routine while caring for them in your home. I always make sure doors and gates are securely closed when entering or leaving, and dogs are properly harnessed or leashed before we head outside. I also keep an eye out for potential safety hazards, such as damaged toys, accessible food or medications, open gates, or holes in fencing. I follow your care instructions closely and do my best to keep your pet’s routine consistent while you’re away. I respect your home just as much as I respect your pets. I clean up after myself and your pet, leave things as I found them, and make sure your home is secure before I leave.

Super happy with Alanna’s visits with our cats! She is responsive and sent pics each visit. The cats were both happy campers when we got home from our trip. We have since rebooked Alanna for a visit with our cats and dog.
Alanna did drop-in visits for our cat Rocket while we were away from him for the first time. She sent the best photos, which helped because we missed him & were anxious about leaving him for the first time after getting him during COVID

Schedule
I’m a full-time dual degree student with a student job and other responsibilities, so my schedule stays busy but is relatively flexible. With advance notice, I’m usually able to plan pet sitting, drop-ins, and walks around my weekly commitments. Because I balance multiple responsibilities, I’m generally not available for last-minute requests. I appreciate clients reaching out ahead of time so I can make sure I’m able to give their pets the time and attention they deserve. Please respect my time and schedule, and I’ll always extend the same courtesy to you.
