Shelter-Trained Pet Lover
I've been an animal lover my entire life. I currently have 3 cats, a dog, and 2 rats. What sets me apart is my hands-on experience working in an animal shelter for 3 years. I’m comfortable with all types of dogs and cats, including shy, reactive, or high-energy pets. I also love small animals like rats and guinea pigs. I’m trained in reading body language, handling safely, and creating calm, positive experiences for every animal. I have experience with administering medication. Your pet’s comfort and safety will always come first.

Ratings and reviews
Consistent, great communicator, very polite and most importantly, my cat loves her! 10/10 would recommend.

Very responsive, easy to communicate with, earned my pets trust and respect. 10/10 would recommend.

I have two very shy cats who usually hide from anyone new, so I was nervous about leaving them while I was out of town. Alanis was incredible. She took the time to move at their pace, speak gently, and let them come to her on their own terms. By the second visit, they were already peeking out to say hello and sniff her hand. She sent thoughtful updates and photos each day, and I could tell she really understood cat behavior and respected their boundaries. I came home to calm, happy kitties and a spotless feeding area.
I work long hours, so finding someone dependable to walk my dogs during the week was really important. Alanis has been an absolute lifesaver. One of my dogs is a big, high-energy goofball who can be a handful on leash, but Alanis handled him with total confidence from day one. She knows exactly how to channel his energy in a safe, positive way, and he comes home happy, tired, and so much more relaxed. My smaller dog adores her too, and it’s clear both of them look forward to their walks with her. Alanis is always on time, super communicative, and treats my dogs like they’re her own. I trust her completely, and I’m so grateful to have someone so capable and caring helping with their routine.
Alanis was my neighbor and I asked her to look after my two elderly small dogs while I was on vacation, and I couldn’t have felt more at ease. One of my pups needs slow, gentle walks and the other requires daily medication, and Alanis handled both of their routines with so much patience and care. She sent me updates, photos, and little notes about how they were doing, which made me feel completely comfortable being away. When I came home, my dogs were relaxed, happy, and clearly adored her. It meant so much to know they were in loving hands.
I had the pleasure of supervising Alanis for three years during her time as the Adoptions Lead at our animal shelter, and I cannot recommend her highly enough as a pet care provider. Alanis consistently demonstrated exceptional compassion, reliability, and professionalism with every animal in our care. She has extensive hands-on experience with pets of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs, and she approaches each animal with patience and confidence. Whether she was helping a nervous dog decompress, caring for senior pets with special routines, or matching families with their perfect companions, Alanis always showed a natural intuition and a deep understanding of animal behavior. Clients can feel completely at ease knowing their pets are with someone who has real shelter experience, outstanding judgment, and a genuine love for animals. If you’re looking for a sitter who will treat your pet with the same care and attention she gave to the hundreds of animals she worked with at our shelter, Alanis is an exceptional choice.
