I’m currently taking some time to enjoy being a recent graduate before starting a new full-time position on June 1st. I work part-time at an emergency shelter-care facility, but my schedule is very flexible, so I’m excited to have plenty of availability to care for pets throughout the week!

At this time, I’m not able to host pets in my home. However, I’m more than happy to care for your pet in your home, where both your space and your pet will be treated with respect. I will always follow any guidelines or boundaries you set while making sure your pet receives plenty of care, attention, and love. I understand how important our furry friends are and how difficult it can be to be away from them. That’s why I like to learn as much as possible about each pet ahead of time. Knowing their routines, preferences, and personality helps me create a safe, comfortable, and loving environment while you’re away.

I’m happy to care for dogs of all kinds! There are just a few helpful things I like to know beforehand to make sure your pup has the best and safest experience possible. For larger dogs, I do best with pups who are fairly comfortable on leash so I can ensure safe, enjoyable walks. It’s also important for me to know if your dog is reactive to cars, tends to chase small animals, or has any challenges around other dogs so I can plan safe and comfortable outings. I also like to learn your pet’s daily routine; Everything from how much they eat to when they’re used to walks or potty breaks. Keeping their routine consistent helps them feel more at ease while you’re away!
A typical day
I’ll make sure your dog gets plenty of both mental stimulation and physical exercise. Whether it’s playtime with their favorite toys or walks around your neighborhood to explore new sights and smells, I’ll keep them engaged, happy, and well cared for.

Hi! I’m Alana 😊 I provide reliable, attentive in-home care so your pet can stay comfortable in their own space while you’re away. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. I started volunteering at a humane society in middle school and later gained hands-on experience shadowing veterinary technicians at IndyVet. This helped me learn how to read animal body language, handle different temperaments, and provide safe, attentive care. Growing up, my family had golden retrievers, pit bulls, cats, bunnies, and hamsters, so I’m comfortable with a wide range of pets and personalities. Those experiences taught me how to read animal body language and provide attentive, compassionate care. Whether your pet is high-energy, anxious, or just needs extra attention, I’m comfortable adjusting my care style to meet their needs. I now have a miniature dachshund of my own, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I’ll treat your furry friend with the same love, patience, and care that I give my own!
