Safety, trust & environment
Trust and safety is my utmost priority. Through many years of being around different animals, I learned the important of an initial bond based in trust and respect. I hold myself with strength and create an energy of a safe and inviting environment. I am able to gauge an animal’s personality and demeanor, and adjust accordingly. For pets that love to play, I am always happy to bring out my goofy and fun-loving side. For more reserved companions, I enjoy taking things slow and doing calmer activities. Most of all, a pet’s joy and comfort is my number one goal!

Animal Lover to the Max!
Pet care experience
I’ve had pets since I was a child. Dogs, cats, rodents, reptiles, birds - you name it. I’ve always been an animal lover and even wanted to be a veterinarian until I found out was euthanasia is. In my adolescence, I began pet sitting and volunteering with the SPCA (where we adopted all of our pets); small and big dogs, and sometimes multiple at a time. I started to experiment with training and enjoyed teaching tricks and obedience commands. When I turned 19, I inherited my family dog, Rocco, and we became best friends. My favorite memories from those years are taking him to parks and reserves across New York State. In 2025, he got sick and I learned a lot from taking care of him through the end of his life. It was important to me that he felt like a happy, special dog during his last days because he filled my life with so much joy. The day before his euthanasia, I invited everyone who knew him to celebrate his life. He was showered in presents and treats and cuddles and surrounded by humans he loved. Animals share such unique bonds with us. Now, I am looking for opportunities to share my love of animals through Rover. I hope you consider me as your next pet sitter.

Reviews
Alana has been helping watch my dogs for nearly 10 years. They love her. She is incredibly kind and caring for the dogs. She will love them as if they were her own. She has experience giving medicines, dishing up special foods for picky/sensitive dogs. She enjoys long walks with the dogs and also loves bringing them to parks to let them run and play. I would trust her with my fur babies any day of the week.
What I look for in a pet sitter is reliability and kindness, and Alana has both those qualities in abundance. She is sensible and able to think on her feet, so she can strategize a solution if a problem arises. She has excellent communication skills, built through years of care for humans (as a camp counseler and afterschool program assistant, as well as durng several internships for her Social Work degree). She is a passionate animal lover and I wouldn't hesitate to place my pets in her care.
