I and my wife had dogs as children, so we have learned what care is needed to keep them safe and happy. We grieved the loss of our 14-year-old miniature dachshund, Sundae, on 8/9/23. It was a very deep loss for our family. We have a rambunctious yorkiepoo named Teddy. He is energetic and is great with kids and people. We adopted a sweet dachshund named Max in July 2025. He has been a perfect fit for our family. He is quiet, gentle, and great with the kids. He gets along with Teddy as well as with other dogs. I and my wife have babysat dogs overnight for friends and family over the years, mostly when they go on vacation. We have two boys who love playing with dogs, so the dogs that we have babysat are usually getting a lot of attention. Because our mini-dachshund was older, she did often prefer her quiet-time, so we had separate areas of the house where she could relax and be away from noise. She often liked her crate. If your dog prefers the same, we can provide a similar type of environment for him/her. In our experience, we prefer to follow your dog's feeding schedule and potty schedule. We keep a very clean home, so your dog will be safe and be free to roam, rest, or play as desired.

Schedule
I am home all day during the week, and we are home most weekends. We are available to care for your dog with timely communication and planning. We usually cannot provide same day bookings due to our boys' school and extracurricular activity schedule, but we can accommodate certain requests. Once your dog is boarding with us, we make sure that we are home and available to provide your dog care and attention.

Safety, trust & environment
I and my wife keep a very clean home, so we work hard to keep foods and objects away that may cause any harm or sickness to pets. We have a fenced in yard in the back for dogs to run around or potty. We keep the backyard well maintained, especially because our boys enjoy playing in the yard as well. The dogs are free to roam on the first floor of our home and can go out when needed. We usually keep the stairs and upstairs off limits to the dogs unless someone is up there too. We mainly did this for the safety and health of our mini-dachshund. We prefer to follow your dog's routine eating and potty schedule. Our mini-dachshund often preferred quiet-time because of her age, and she liked her crate and her bed. So if you're dog prefers the same, we can definitely provide that. We have special locks on our doors and gates. We always have water out for the dogs and this is usually a shared water bowl. We feed in separate quarters of the house because we understand how important feeding time is for a dog. Our boys love playing with dogs, so your pet will get plenty of attention and cuddles.

A typical day
We have a fenced in yard where the dogs can run. Our boys love running around the house either being chased by the dogs or chasing the dogs. We have dog toys that pets can play with or chew.
