Availability
Every morning I take the pups on a walk or run, and on every day but Tuesdays and Thursdays, I do backyard playtime in the afternoon, then every day in the evenings is indoor playtime. And on the weekends, I love to take my dogs on long hikes, to the dog park, or to go swimming! Please note that I am a student, so there will be times when they will need to be alone and unsupervised, usually kenneled, but I make it a point to expend energy before and after an absence like that so they will want to nap whilst I am away.

Information Alakea P. would like to know about your pet
It would be helpful to know if they have any big triggers such as cars or bikes or children running/screaming and especially other dogs. It would also help me to know how food-motivated they are and what commands they already know. If there is anything you aren't comfortable with them participating in (ie, dog park, training, etc.), let me know! I often bring the pets I am caring for along with my own dogs to things, so if you have specific preferences, let me know so I can cater to you and your pet!
A typical day
Physical and mental stimulation are both very important, and I cater to what each dog prefers. If your pup loves one-on-one training, you may come home to a dog who knows a new trick or two! If they love to run, I'll bring them along on one of my hour long walk/runs. If they have a high prey drive, it's fetch in the backyard and playing with toys! Or if they prefer quiet solo play, I have dozens of dog enrichment toys (I call them "puzzles") for them to choose from. If they're more of a couch potato, I'm all in. Movie night it is! It is a passion of mine to get to know each dog on a personal level and figure out what makes their brain "tick."

I’ve had a lifelong passion for animals and truly enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique personality and needs. I have years of hands-on experience owning, training, and caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and energy levels, including seniors and high-energy breeds. From a young age, I began regularly walking, training, and caring for neighbors’ pets after they saw how well-mannered and happy my animals were. I’m attentive, patient, and highly observant of animal behavior, which helps me create a calm, safe environment and respond to each dog appropriately. I’m also experienced in caring for cats and am comfortable managing a variety of temperaments and routines for animals of all kinds. Providing reliable, compassionate care and giving pet parents peace of mind is something I truly value, and I love building trust with both pets and their people and creating a genuine relationship!

Alakea is incredibly responsible and has been working with dogs for 11 years. She has been hired to train and care for dogs and I’ve never seen anything but excellent results. If you need someone who genuinely cares about your pup, and who always goes above and beyond, look no further.
Alakea is very good at taking care of dogs and has a genuine unbridled love for them. She’s always very patient with them and takes her time to train her dogs to be absolute gentlemen/gentlewomen. She has lots of experience taking care of her own pets and taking care of friends and neighbors pets frequently
