Relaxing zen retreat in the forest!

** I’m happy to announce that I’ve ordered both a smaller and a larger playpen to better accommodate our youngest as well as our more petite sized guests. However, additional fees will still apply for dogs that aren’t fully house trained. ** I’ve had dogs and cats since childhood, including stubborn/clever breeds like German Shepherds and Shibas. I’m a very calm person so I’d be great for anxious dogs or those that prefer a quiet environment. There’s a lead outside so if your dog prefers outdoor naps then it’s no problem. If your dog likes to wiggle out of collars please provide a harness for their safety. In the winter months we use the fireplace, it’s also a great place for naps. I’m currently expanding my portfolio of dog portraits, who knows, maybe your buddy will be my new muse!

Schedule

I generally work from home so I’m happy to have dog friends by my side. I’m an artist but no worries, I don’t use any mediums that can be dangerous to my or other pets. In the warmer months I’ll spend more time outside in my art tent, perfect for the dog that likes to snooze in the sunshine or play fetch outside.

Safety, trust & environment

Please let me know if you need any special arrangements or extra care for your dog. I have an easygoing schedule, my dog and cat are also relaxed and like to sleep during the day. They’re both well-mannered, if your pet has a tendency to gobble everything in sight, likes to dig holes, or tends to cause general mischief please give me a heads up! Any signs of dog or cat aggression will require me to separate the animals. Our backyard is state forest so looking for an escape artist on the run will be a bad time, please make sure your dog has an appropriate harness if you would like for them to spend more time outside with us. I’m happy to take low energy larger dogs, dogs are considered on a case by case basis. Your pet will get a doggy report card at the end of the day, repeat clients will have doggy report cards tailored to their needs.

Pets

A typical day

Activities depend on the needs of the individual dog, there’s enough room on the lead to play fetch when the weather is nice, while couch potato dogs can find a nice warm place for a snooze. We have lots of birds and other critters on the property so small dogs especially will have a fun time with the “doggy TV” available.

My preference is for couch potato dogs and dogs that have an easygoing energy like me, if your dog likes to chill in the sunshine he will be very happy here. I can also accommodate dogs that require a continuous human presence, the house and yard are both quiet so it’s a nice relaxing place for them. I can’t take hyperactive dogs or dogs that need to be “wrestled” (I’d lose). Anything that is important to know about your dog please tell me, any other issues that arise can be discussed while going over the doggy report card. NOTE: Rates are based on a sliding scale depending on a dog’s size, activity level, anxiety levels and additional needs. New puppies (3-6 months) have the highest rates due to the amount of care, cleaning, and special attention required.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
