Pet care experience
Experienced Foster and Pet Sitter
I’ve been helping animal shelters with socialization and walks since I was old enough to sign up. Once I moved away from home and college dorms, I adopted several pets. Then, finally, when I got my own home on a 4.5-acre lot with double fences, I was able to start fostering dogs and cats. Other than haircuts, I provide just about every kind of service you could imagine, including boarding, baths, nail trimming (with a grinder for added safety), walks, cuddles, socialization with other animals where appropriate and behavioral advice for pet parents. I’ve worked extensively with special needs dogs and cats, including blind and deaf animals, those with limited mobility and some with “wobble” syndrome. My home has a dedicated pet room with toys, crates, treats, chews and a live camera for easy monitoring, and I’ll gladly let you check in with your baby while you’re away. After years of fostering all kinds of animals with all kinds of personalities, I’ve got you covered — I’m ready to spoil any poof you bring my way!

Ratings and reviews
Ethan and Alaina have done an amazing job with our pups again! We are so glad we have a trusted home for our fur babies to go to when we go out of town. Highly recommend!

Alaina was great. Our dogs were treated fantastic. She provided updates and pictures to us. I would highly recommend her.

My dog loves Alaina and Ethan. He had plenty of space to run around, and they provided great photo and video updates.

Harley had a great time! We felt comfortable being away from him knowing he was well cared for.

Smooth drop off, pictures and updates throughout the day, and a worn out pup! Great daycare! Thanks again!

Alaina and Ethan are fantastic with our pups while we are away! They are responsive, flexible, and give us peace of mind that our dogs are in good hands! Highly recommend.

Calendar and availability
Schedule
I generally work as a digital content writer and editor, but I’m often between contracts, meaning full availability. When I’m on assignment, it’s still 100% from home, which means I can always be nearby to keep your pet calm and tend to their needs. Even if I have to step out, my husband, who has helped with adopted pets as well as fosters from the beginning, also works from home, so it’s unlikely your Fido or Floofles will face much time without human interaction while they’re in our care. Vetting: We’re closely familiar with several emergency veterinary clinics in the area, as well as a general practitioner who sees our resident and foster animals on a regular basis. I don’t anticipate any vet trips, but should a situation arise, we will make sure they’re seen by a professional and cared for adequately and promptly (with your permission, of course).

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Spoiling required. I make sure every individual animal is kept separate from the others until a full and safe behavioral assessment can take place on the property. From there, they get to interact with the other pets in a limited capacity, and if all is still going well, they can fully socialize with supervision (including 24/7 camera monitoring). Timid dogs get quiet spaces to decompress, cuddly dogs get endless hugs, food-motivated dogs get to enjoy gourmet chews, Kongs and treats with everyone else. I make sure each boarded pet has their own clean, cozy crate in case they enjoy a safe space to call their own. Free-roam yard play is encouraged with constant in-person supervision in our inner fenced yard (containment tie-outs available for fence jumpers), and I give walks several times a day along with play sessions with regularly replaced toys. Squeakers, chewies, ropes, puzzles, snuffle mats — we have it all, and we know how to carefully monitor and assess dog and cat personalities to ensure they have the best time and remain safe, happy and well cared for throughout their stay with us!
