I’ve always loved animals and have been caring for them for most of my life. I had a cat for over 15 years, grew up walking and caring for neighbors’ dogs, and have now had the pleasure of welcoming many wonderful dogs into our home through Rover. We treat every dog as an individual and tailor their stay around their personality, routine, and needs. Most importantly, we want every dog who stays with us to feel completely at home—and excited to come back! My wife and I share our home with our pup, Lorraine, who is a social butterfly and loves making new friends. We’re both active and big believers in giving dogs plenty of physical exercise, mental stimulation, attention, and affection. Depending on your dog’s needs and preferences, their stay can include regular walks, longer adventures around Fort Greene, playtime, and visits to Hillside or the dog run when appropriate. Between walks and adventures, there’s plenty of time to relax, play, and hang out with us at home. I’m around throughout the day, so our guests get lots of company and individual attention rather than simply being left on their own. Please let me know about any special needs or preferences ahead of time so I can make your dog’s stay as comfortable as possible. This can include dietary restrictions, exercise needs, personality quirks, separation anxiety, medications, or how they interact with other dogs. Our apartment building is extremely pet-friendly, and dogs are a regular part of life here. Lorraine loves having canine friends over, and we love getting to know each dog who stays with us. Our goal is for your dog to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and genuinely happy to come back again.

Aksel was wonderful! He watched our dog for two days and sent lots of picture updates, which we really appreciated. She clearly loved him and was so happy and well cared for. It gave us such peace of mind knowing she was in great hands. We’d absolutely book with Aksel again and highly recommend him!
Aksel was wonderful with CeCe! We left her with him for 5 days while we were away, and she had such a great time — especially getting to hang out with his pup, Lorraine. He took great care of her, made sure she got plenty of exercise and playtime, and took her to the park to help her get her energy out. It was clear that CeCe was happy, comfortable, and well cared for throughout her stay. We’d definitely trust Aksel with CeCe again and highly recommend him!
Aksel has watched our dog many times and we rest easy knowing that our pup is in great hands. Honestly our dog probably has more fun with Aksel than at home. We were in a pinch and had to drop our dog off at the last minute this time - it is such a relief to know that Aksel will make sure our quirky and stubborn dog will be well looked after.
Great experience with Aksel as always! He picked up our dog from daycare and the daycare staff commented on how excited they were to see each other!

Schedule
Currently a real estate agent working from home, I have a flexible schedule. My wife also works from home most of the week, so your pet will have plenty of company during their stay.

A typical day
We’re active individuals and are big believers in mental and physical exercise for our animal friends too. Outside of regular walks, expect daily dog-run hangs and long walks / runs to Fort Greene and Hillside dog park whenever possible. Between walks, your pet will receive constant attention and affection. Let us know if your dog likes to go on runs! We do too! We also have tons of toys so your dog will definitely find something they like.
