Pet care experience

Here to love on your fur baby!

I’ve spent about half my life living with both dogs and cats, raising and caring for pets at different ages and stages. My family previously ran a small breeding business, so I’ve looked after dozens of puppies and learned a lot about early‑stage care, socialization, and safe play. I’ve also rescued and raised a stray kitten, which taught me patience, gentleness, and how to help an animal feel secure in a new environment. My most recent pets were two Boerboels, Nala and Archie, whom I cared for from puppyhood into adulthood. Over the years, I’ve gained experience in playtime, basic grooming, feeding routines, administering simple and post-surgery care, and most importantly, making pets feel loved, safe, and understood. I have a soft spot for both cats and dogs and truly believe they’re a gift to us. Every animal deserves kindness, respect, and attentive care, and that’s exactly what I bring to every pet I look after. I look forward to caring for your precious one!

Wish I could pick 10 stars! Akosua is nothing short of fabulous! I have an old english bulldog (Star) who doesn't do heat well. It was very hot while I was away. Akosua would get up before the sun rose to take out Star and take her out again after the sun set, which meant Akosua put her sleep aside and put Star first. She sent me daily videos, pictures and texts, which put my mind at ease. This was the first time I left Star with someone other than family. Because of Akosua's loving care, I will next time book with Akosua instead of my family :). Star loved her so much she didn't want to come home. Akosua taught me how to be a better dog mom, which I so appreciate. I would highly recommend Akosua, she is a caring and loving person :)

Thank you so much for taking care of my dog! I really appreciated the updates, photos, and the care you gave throughout the stay. You made the whole experience stress-free and I could tell my dog was comfortable and well looked after. I’d definitely book with you again and recommend you to others!

Schedule

I am typically available on weekends and holidays! On weekdays, I am only available to care for mature, crate-trained or house-trained dogs who can be left alone for 9 hours, as I work full-time and am home by 5:15 pm. Here is what you can expect when I board your dog throughout weekdays: - A 30 to 40 (depending on your pet's energy level) minute walk in the mornings with lots of time for sniffing, exploring and exercise - Feeding and water once we are back home, a potty break and a chance to walk around for a few minutes outside before I leave for work - They will be monitored via pet cam throughout the day to ensure their safety - Immediate potty break and time to sniff and play once I'm back home, feeding and then a 45-minute to an hour-long walk - Lots of indoor play, attention and cuddles once we're inside - Final potty break of the day once we're ready for bed - Photos and video updates in the morning and night. I love taking cute photos of pets, so I'm happy to update you more than twice a day. Just say the word! For cats, I have lots of cozy spots in my apartment to lounge around with them throughout the day! I have time to bring them on the balcony or the pet area in my building for some sensory stimulation and fresh air (if they like being outdoors a bit).

Safety, trust & environment

I have a spacious, pet‑friendly apartment that’s safe, calm, and comfortable. There are multiple cozy spots where your pet can relax and feel at home. I follow each pet’s usual feeding, play, and rest routines, and I ensure they receive plenty of attention and affection so they feel secure in your absence. I’m always happy to share photos, videos, and text updates to give you peace of mind while your fur baby is with me. For pets who shed a lot, I take time to brush them gently as and when needed to prevent any matting. I'm very flexible and always willing to accommodate special requests to ensure your pet's safety and comfort!

A typical day

I love keeping things fun and comforting for pets, so activities really depend on what your fur baby enjoys. That might look like playtime with their favourite toys, gentle walks, exploring the neighbourhood for some sensory stimulation, running around in the dog park, cozy cuddle sessions, or just hanging out and giving them lots of love and attention. I follow their energy, whether they’re playful, curious, or more laid‑back, so they feel happy, safe, and cared for the whole time.

I always want to make sure your fur baby feels completely comfortable, so it helps to know anything that’s part of their normal routine or affects how they behave. Things like their feeding schedule, allergies, energy level, favourite activities, any quirks, fears, or triggers, and how they usually behave around new people, other animals or new environments are all really helpful. If they have medical needs, special instructions, or comfort items they love, I’d love to know that too. The more I understand them, the better I can make their stay feel like home.
