I've been house and pet sitting for 2 years and care for animals and homes like I would my own. I'm highly attuned to the needs and stresses of animals and do all I can to help them settle. I tend to be proactive rather than simply following a checklist. I like to understand each animal’s individual routine, personality and needs so they can be happy and healthy while their people are away. I have taken care of plenty of dogs and cats as well as snakes, horses, reptiles and farm animals. With dogs I tend to work best with are small to medium-large. I can work with larger dogs too based on energy levels, though I'm conscious of the fact that I can't always lift a large dog should it be required in an emergency. I am always happy to maintain training and will instil basic discipline around walks and feeding where required. With cats I often maintain routine while allowing them time and space to get comfortable with me. I rarely force my presence on an animal, just as I too appreciate my own time and space. I appreciate a thorough handover, particularly around household quirks, equipment, visitors and responsibilities beyond standard pet and house care. Once I understand the setup, I’m self-sufficient and appreciate a “no news is good news” approach unless something important arises. I'm happy to provide updates if needed or leave you alone if you prefer. I’m best suited to calm or moderately active homes rather than high-chaos environments, and I value realistic expectations around responsibilities and cleanliness. Clean and safe environments help to set us all up for success. Clear communication and mutual respect go a long way; the more I understand before a sit, the better I can care for your home and animals without needing to contact you unnecessarily.
