This was our first experience with Aina and our second boarding experience overall. Chappy (our 10-month-old Old English Sheepdog) stayed for approximately 36 hours. The good news is that Chappy came home happy, healthy, and relaxed. His appetite, bathroom habits, and overall behavior were normal after returning home. He did not show any signs of fear or distress, and he seemed comfortable around the family members in the home. Communication was responsive whenever I reached out with questions, and pickup was smooth. All of Chappy’s belongings were packed and ready when we arrived. A few things future owners may want to be aware of: * During both drop-off and pickup, we were greeted by the sitter’s teenage children rather than the sitter herself. The children were polite, friendly, and helpful, but we did not interact with an adult during either visit, despite arriving within the agreed-upon time windows. * I had prepared pre-portioned meals and treats with detailed feeding instructions. When Chappy returned, some of the meal bags appeared unused, so it was unclear whether the feeding schedule had been followed exactly as provided. * We only received photos after requesting an update, and the photos appeared to have been taken around the same time. Owners who prefer proactive updates throughout the stay may want to discuss communication expectations in advance. * Chappy was noticeably thirsty when he returned home and drank a significant amount of water. I cannot say for certain whether this was related to his stay, but I wanted to mention it as part of our experience. Overall, Chappy returned home safe, healthy, and comfortable after his stay. However, owners who place a high value on detailed communication, strict adherence to feeding instructions, or direct interaction with the primary sitter may wish to clarify those expectations before booking.
