I've grown up with animals my entire life and have always felt the innate urge to care for them. I grew up in the woods of Wisconsin surrounded by farms. It was there that I learned to care for animals of all varieties and familiarized myself with their habits and instincts. From caring for wounded birds, feeding newborn calves, saving overturned turtles in roadways, playing with piglets, sheltering lost dogs, navigating daily life in close contact with raccoons, possums, deer, snakes and coyotes to living with our family's Springer Spaniel, Calico cat, guinea pig, pet rat, chinchilla and sugar gliders. I've learned compassion and respect, safety and guidance where needed for every creature. I've held several administrative positions which involved dog sitting and walking for employers (this was always a treat for the girl who despises sitting at a desk all day long). Later I began assisting a friend who is a dog behaviorist with some dog walking and dog boarding. I am ever grateful for their guidance in furthering my knowledge in working with animals. In this position, I became more familiar with tending to the needs of dogs that require special attention due to medical issues and behavioral issues, especially large breed dogs.
