Aiko's Puppy Love in Walnut Creek!
I am a dog lover and fiber artist who works from our currently petless home. Our beloved Chu-chan (who I often used as a model for my tapestries) passed a few years ago. My high school teacher husband, Dennis, and I miss her lots and would be happy to care for your dear house trained over 2 year old pup while you are away. Doggies must be up to date on their shots, on a flea prevention regimen, NOT use 'pee pads' inside the house, wear dog tags (whether or not they have a chip), and, especially, be able to sleep on their own in the living room. We prefer dogs under 40 pounds but larger, mellow dogs might also be workable. Pup can hang with me as I weave in my studio or have free rein of the fenced back yard. I'm happy to take breaks during the day for puppy walks. We are conveniently located in Walnut Creek near the Iron Horse Trail and can walk or drive to the Heather Farm Dog Park. Various open space trails are also a short drive away. Currently we do not have any animals living with us- just my husband and I- and are happy to host yours. Our fee, before Rover's add-on charges, per 24 hrs. is $50 ($60 holidays) if your dog can be with other dogs- we like to have 2 to 3 dogs at a time. Please be aware that Rover does add additional fees- the number you see listed on the site is the total per day fee. If your pup does not get on well with other dogs and needs to be the only 4 legger around the fee is $150 per 24 hours if we can accommodate you. In addition to overnight boarding we accept dogs for daycare in our home. For daycare during the daytime our fee is $45 or $50 during holidays- again, Rover tacks fees on so check to total price on the website. Please identify any food bowls you bring with your dog's name on them and know that we don't guarantee that any toys you bring will not be damaged ;) Please check the calendar for availability as I might be away leading trips to Guatemala to explore the Mayan Textile Culture or in Japan showing my artwork**. Dennis and Aiko are wonderful. They are looking after my sweet girl during the day while I’m at work, and it’s clear she has had an amazing day with them. I (and my pup) cannot recommend them enough!

As always Aiko does a fantastic job watching my little dog Obi. I had a 10-day long trip planned over the Xmas holiday but decided to extend an extra week and she was able to accommodate easily. Obi is always happy and healthy when coming home and I enjoy seeing all the photos I receive of him with his new (dog) friends.
Always know that my dogs are going to have a great time and are well taken care of while I'm away. Ernie and Sansa practically run to their door!

Sécurité, confiance et environnement
I work from home and am almost always there. Happy to have doggies around when I work and also happy to let them out into the fenced backyard when they desire.
Une journée type
We usually take the dogs on a morning and afternoon walk in the neighborhood or to Walden Park- always on leash. Sometimes we go the the Heather Farm dog park via the Iron Horse Trail if the owner gives permission. Dogs move between the house and backyard as they please. Plenty of squirrels are available for chasing. And we love to snuggle with doggies in the living room. Please note that dogs sleep in the living room and are not permitted in our bedroom. If your dog is used to sleeping with a human we will have to do a one night tryout to make sure sleeping in the living room works ;)
