My husband and I both work in international development and are currently working remotely. If one of us needs to pop into London for a day, the other stays home. We’ve always had this routine with our dogs and so it’s completely natural for us. We love long walks, but having cared for an older dog, we understand that not all dogs can handle long walks—we have lovely shorter walks on our doorstep too. We also have a dog-friendly car with dog towels and comfy blankets.

Safety, trust & environment

We live in a small Victorian cottage surrounded by nature and lovely walks and have a fenced garden for quick toilet breaks if needed. We also have a car and for any emergencies a trusted vet just 10 minutes away. Our whippet was allowed in all rooms and on the bed. Our rescue lab prefers to be a downstairs dog so we now have a stair gate but we will follow your rules so that your dog has a home-away-from-home experience and all routines are kept as close as possible to what they are used to with you.

Information Agatha A. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any special needs, likes, or dislikes. Any behaviours we should be aware of? Are there things they love in particular? Anything they are scared of? Do they travel well in the car? How are they with new people, new places, and other new dogs? All the little details will help us take better care of your dog!

A typical day

Well, East Sussex is the dream for dogs! If your dog likes playing indoors, I encourage bringing toys and treats for some treat hide and seek - it's very stimulating for them, no matter how old they are! And then we have the great outdoors: so many walks, different terrains like fields, woods, towns and villages. If they just want to rest, they can stretch out on their bed by the fire in our cosy cottage and use our garden for quick toilet breaks. Each dog has different needs, so we can adjust to each and every one of them. We'll follow their usual meal times as well.

Offering loving care in a restful Sussex cottage

Pet care experience

In 2024 we had to say goodbye to our beloved 15-and-a-half-year-old whippet. He was our world. We have so much love to give and life felt empty without him, so in 2025 we decided to help others with their dogs as we know how hard it can be to find the right care. In the meantime, a rescue lab found her way into our lives so we took some time off Rover to give her space and let her settle, she now brings joy to our lives daily! Our whippet had many extra needs and we always made sure he was comfortable with all his needs met. We can offer a very calm, safe and restful environment for your dog when you're away. Surrounded by the most stunning countryside and lovely long walks, we'll make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise if needed. If they'd prefer to just rest and cuddle, our arms are open and our wood-burning stove will keep them toasty too! We both grew up with many dogs and before we got our rescue lab we also fostered a dog from Ukraine and helped him found a new home locally. We can't imagine a life without dogs and besides having one now we still have more love to give.

Agatha and Robbie take such excellent care of my elderly dog, Bertie. And their dog is so lovely, sweet and gentle and both dogs got on great. Would highly recommend

Agatha and Robbie took such wonderful care of our elderly dog. They routinely sent me regular updates and pictures, and gave Bertie lots of love and cuddles. I think he had a better holiday than us! They have a good knowledge, understanding and experience of dogs. There communication was brilliant. I would be very happy to use them again and highly recommend!

I was a first time user of Rover and it was a last minute booking so was quite apprehensive in how my beagle would be. Well, I should not have worried as Agatha and Robbie were just amazing with my dog, he had a fantastic time with lots of walking, cuddles, games. I definitely will be booking again with Agatha and Robbie as truly amazing and so caring. So in short , you will regret yourself if you don’t book with them . Thank you both again .
