I grew up in the Dominican Republic, where seeing stray dogs struggling in solitude and hunger was unfortunately part of the daily life. As a child, I used to dream of growing up and owning a big house where I could shelter as many dogs as possible. Although I haven’t reached that dream yet, the intention behind it remains as a primary motivation guiding me through life.

Schedule
As a senior in college, my spring semester brings a lot of flexibility with time, which I am truly grateful for. During these past four years at school, I have been a commuter. Commuting to school has taught me to be punctual and organized. Navigating the MTA on the daily basis has also allowed me to plan ahead of time, be proactive, and explore the city in an efficient and effective manner. Pet care fits into my routine because I can transfer my skills of discipline and attentiveness. I will plan my days carefully to ensure that the pets receive consistent attention, timely walks, feedings and maintain their organize structured. Both the pets and their parents will become a priority in my schedule so that I can respect both of their routine, allow them to flow, and value their time. Additionally, my flexibility this semester would allow me to walk the pets and drop in for visits in the morning, afternoon, and evening on the weekends and most weekdays. I can also house sit or dog board from Thursday- Monday.

I live by the golden rule, to treat others the way I would like to be treated. I aim to transfer this rule during pet care by creating a clean, cozy, safe and fun environment where the pets feel comfortable and secure, whether we are in my home or in theirs. I want to be attentive to their routines and treat it with respect to suit their individuals needs. I am excited to take them on walks, and hopefully continue to be booked begrow to understand the different ways in which they communicate and interact with the world. My goal is to become a friend to the puppies and provide environments where the puppies feel truly at home.
