Pet care experience

Experienced, caring pet sitter

I have solid pet care experience — in my own home and staying at owners' homes to care for pets and houses. I have cared for dogs, cats, and even farm animals over the years. I live in a large house with two fully fenced yards, a seasonal pool, and walking trails nearby, so pets have plenty of room to run, relax, or explore on leash. I also have two dogs of our own, Loki (7) and Nelly (14), both friendly, well-behaved 50lb mixed breeds — Loki's a bit more active, Nelly's calm and sweet. They may bark when someone new arrives but warm up fast, so we know how to help nervous pets settle in. Whether it's an active young dog or a senior who needs a gentler routine, I tailor the care to fit.

Schedule

Pet care is woven into my everyday life. I work from home, so I'm around throughout the day for feeding, potty breaks, and attention — not squeezing visits in around a job. My own dogs are let out into the fenced yard at least 4-5 times a day, right from the front door, and I take them on a walk daily. With two fenced yards, a pool, and trails nearby, pets get plenty of room to play and explore. Because I'm home consistently, sitting jobs fit naturally into my day — your pet gets frequent check-ins and a routine that doesn't feel rushed.

Safety, trust & environment

I take pet care in my home very seriously — I consider pets family, and the top priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and at ease from the moment they arrive. My main focus is hosting sits in my own home, but I'm also open to sitting at a client's home nearby. I have done several sits in other people's homes, and I take that responsibility seriously: I make it a priority to learn a pet's routine — feeding times, walk schedules, favorite spots, any quirks — and stick to it closely so there's as little disruption as possible. I'm also a respectful guest in someone else's home, treating the space and belongings with care, just as I would want someone to treat mine. Whether it's my place or yours, pets get consistent routine and full attention.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day includes plenty of outdoor time in my fenced yards, playtime, and lots of attention throughout the day since I work from home. Dogs get let out frequently, go on a daily walk, and have space to run and explore — plus a seasonal pool for those who enjoy the water. Active pups can enjoy games like tug-of-war or fetch, while more relaxed pets are welcome to just relax outside in the sun or cuddle up on the couch. For cats, I follow their pace — some love interactive play, others prefer quiet company and a cozy spot to settle in. Whatever a pet's personality, I make sure their day includes plenty of activity, comfort, and affection.

Before a sit, I like to know a pet's daily routine — feeding times and amounts, potty/walk schedule, and any medications or health issues. It's also helpful to know their personality: are they anxious around new people, do they have any fears (loud noises, storms, certain spaces), and how they do with other dogs or pets. For cats, I like to know their comfort level with strangers and where they like to hide or relax. Any specific commands, routines, or quirks that keep them comfortable are always good to share ahead of time — the more I know, the smoother the transition for the pet.
