Safety, trust & environment

In my home: my home is a very dog friendly home, with plenty of rooms for dogs to explore and options on the most comfortable spot to sleep! If a bed is their choice, I happily throw a doggy specific duvet down and let them snug up where they feel most comfortable. Walks and outdoor time varies on what the dogs would like! Whether its a long walk by the river or running in an open field, we have access to all. In your home: I will be happy to stay over with your pet to allow your dog to stay comfortable and in their typical routine.

Information Addie G. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for a dog, it is important for me to gather certain information on the dog, the home environment, daily routine, medical needs, and more. Prior to taking care of a dog, I like to ensure I know all the following key details: 1. Breed, Size and Age: If something I've learned over years of experience, all dogs are different! Understanding a dog's breed helps manage expectations for a dog's energy level, exercise requirements, grooming needs, and potential health issues. While I know your dog is your forever baby, me having a good understanding of the dog's age helps me prepare for developmental stages, training needs, and dietary requirements. Puppies have different needs than adult or senior dogs. 2. Health History: Like people, we all have a past and it's important to know! Prior to taking care of a dog, I ensure I have solid basic understanding of the pet's current and past help, including vaccinations, past illnesses, and any ongoing medical conditions. 3. Behavior, Personality, and Temperament: I like to learn from both the owner and from observation the dog's behavior and temperament to gauge their compatibility with your lifestyle and household. Having a solid understanding of their behavior and personality is vital to providing he best care to the dog. 4. Exercise and Mental Stimulation: Determine the dog's exercise needs and their preferred activities. Some breeds require extensive exercise, while others are more sedentary. Additionally, learn about mental stimulation activities like puzzle toys or training exercises to keep the dog mentally engaged. 5. Dietary Restrictions and Grooming Needs: Keeping a dog's current diet and feeding schedule consistent is a major key to success while you are away from your dog. I make sure I have a full understanding of all dietary restrictions, allergies, and their feeding program prior to caring for the dog. Along with keeping feeding consistent, it is important to keep grooming routines consistent as well. 6. Routine and Lifestyle: Dogs thrive on routine, so I like to gather information about the dog's current daily schedule, including feeding times, exercise routines, and sleep patterns. 7. Emergency Contacts: Vet numbers, extra emergency contacts in case of emergency

A typical day

1. Playtime at the Park- in the Roaring Fork Valley, there are endless amounts of amazing parks, many dog friendly. I make sure to learn your dogs favorite spot so we can make sure we frequent it while you're gone! 2. Hikes and Trail Runs- For the runners and the energizers, I love hiking and trail running. This can be as casual as walking the Rio Grande trail all the way to hiking to high alpine lakes! 3. Swimming- I have my favorite dog swimming holes scattered through the valley so if your dog likes some time to splash, we can surely fit this in. 4. Toy session- Engaging the dog in interactive play with toys and balls are a great route to get those doggies mentally engaged and challenged. 5. Relaxing / Cuddling- I always like to make sure the dogs have their time to relax, feel safe and comfortable, so sometimes some cuddles and pet time is necessary, especially when they're loved ones are away!

Dependable, Affectionate Dog Sitter

Pet care experience

Firstly, I am a dog lover through and through! Every breed, shape, size, and quirk, they make me happy. I am confident in my myself as a fantastic dog sitter based off years of experience starting in my early teens and now carrying me into my early thirties! Years of various experience between Colorado, New Jersey, NYC, and more has provided me with an exceptional range of skills and experience in canine care. From puppies to senior dogs, I possess a deep understanding and unwavering love for dogs of all ages. Having witnessed the entire lifespan of five family dogs, and now having a sweet lab of my own, I have gained invaluable knowledge and insight into their unique needs and behaviors. Whether it's bottle-feeding tiny puppies or tenderly attending to elderly dogs requiring diapers, I am well-versed in every aspect of specialized care. Additionally, I am skilled in nail trimming, catering to special diets, and providing extra love and attention for the anxious ones. My top priority is ensuring the dogs I care for are comfortable and at ease while their owners are away. I devote myself to their happiness, making a great effort to create a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Above all, I never compromise on the well-being of these cherished companions, making certain they are never left in any situation their owners wouldn't approve of. I will love your dog like my own for every moment you are gone!

Addie is an amazing pet-sitter! She takes my dogs out for exercise while I work and has also done overnight house/dog sitting for me. She is very responsive, reliable, and will even send me cute pictures of my pets to show me how much fun they are having. Would highly recommend addie!!
