I work from home and treat Rover as a part-time job, so these dogs and cats get a lot of attention. We live near several parks and neighborhood trails, and I love taking dogs out on the greenbelt trails when the weather is nice. If you're headed to the airport early in the morning or late at night, I am happy to coordinate pick-up or drop-off for a small extra fee.

180 dog walks and counting! Hosting Rover dogs has become a big part of our lives -- we bring in your pet as if it were our own. We typically only have one dog at a time, so they get all of our attention while they are here. We can accommodate crate trained pets, but our house is a great alternative to traditional kennels for dogs that don’t prefer crates or being around other dogs.

It’s good to know about your pet’s sleeping and eating habits and how often they need to go on walks or to use the bathroom. We can usually talk about that via text or during drop-off. Also... Important: If your dog has anxiety/attachment issues (ie, will bark if not in the same room, scratch at doors/floors, excessive jumping/biting), please let me know. We are passionate dog lovers who don't mind some high energy pets, but we are not able to care for dogs that cannot be left alone for up to 1-2 hours or who are extremely high-energy/babied.
A typical day
Walks on the neighborhood are a must. We have a greenbelt nearby, but we are also just as likely to play fetch in the backyard. Our half-acre backyard is a treasure trove of entertainment for dogs of all sizes.

Urban farm family seeks wet noses

I live with my husband Frank and teenage son on a mini urban farm in North Austin that is perfect for dogs with lots of energy or who love watching "chicken TV" as we call it. (The coop is well fenced, so the rabbits and ducks have learned to ignore the dogs, too.) We lost both of our elderly pets during the pandemic, and Rover has been a wonderful way to invite dogs and cats back into our lives. Our kids, ages 14 and 17, are great Rover helpers, and they have an endless supply of snuggles ready to give your pet. We only board one animal a time (or two, if they are from the same family), so your fur baby will get all our attention while we have them. I stay in close contact with pet owners to share photos and updates. Besides boarding, I love taking dogs for walks in the neighborhood or doing quick drop-ins for your cats while you're out of town.
