Pets are better than family
Pet care experience
I've been a dog/cat owner for practically my entire life. Got a cat when I was 4, we adopted a dog when I was 5, and it's been pet life ever since. I am the proud parent of a German Shepherd/Pit mix and a Lab/Shepherd mix. I'm great with small, medium, big, or jumbo dogs, and I love cats too. :) I'm a firm believer in there being no such thing as bad dogs, and that each dog has his/her own personality that should be respected and adjusted for.
Reviews
Adam S. Is a true dog lover. He has an amazing ability to connect with multiple breeds and situations. I have seen him out in the neighborhood when a dog gets loose and he is able to communicate with the dog(s) and take them home. He is caring and considerate for the owners as well. He manages dogs while on walks or in the dog parks too. Overall, Adam is a kind, considerate, honest person who truly loves dogs. I would trust him completely. We rescued a poodle who was not very social and barked at anyone she didn’t know. Within a very short time, he had her snuggled up with him and totally peaceful. Kathie S.
Adam is very kind and patient with any type of dog. I have left my dog in his care for a full day and my shy boy loves him!
Adam watches both our dogs (10-pound dog and 70-pound dog). Giving each dog the attention they need. He also stops our 10-pound dog from eating our 70-pound dog's food! Haha. Adam is very accommodating to our schedule and super friendly during drop off and pickups. We have already recommended him already to friends!
Adam or I as I like to call him "Adam the Dog Whisperer" is the most genuine person I know. He treats any and every dog like his own and he treats his own dogs like they are King or Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. He will be honest and caring and respect the rules of the owners. He will be a great addition to the Rover team.

I would not be hosting pets overnight unless it was a necessity and they were to meet/get along with my dogs first and foremost. However you need me to care for your dog is how I will! When letting dogs out into backyards while under my care I typically like to go out with them in order to a) ensure they potty and b) play with them to tire them out. When it comes to walking, the pet owner is the best source of information on what kind of care they need (short leash, loosh lease, if they're aggressive, etc).
Information Adam S. would like to know about your pet
- Allergies are the primary concern - Any triggers or noises to avoid/be prepared for - What kind of aggression do they have toward other dogs - How long you prefer they stay outside - Which parts of the house may be off limits (or furniture) - Their food schedule - What kind of treat is their favorite - What toys are their favorite - Do they enjoy being brushed or is it more of a challenge to get them to sit still - How often do they go to the dog park I would ask multiple questions, while also asking the owners/parents to comment any concerns or specifics they have about their dog to make sure I can provide the best service.
A typical day
Activities are very dependent on the type of dog. I play tug of war, fetch, chase, etc with my dogs quite often, however some dogs simply want to walk with you. I’m very open to what each dog needs.

Availability
I work M-F from 8 am to 5 pm. I walk my own dogs 3-4 times daily (big dogs need lots of walks!), however I also have a roommate who helps from time to time. I am predominantly interested in dog walking during times that fit my current schedule, however am open to house sitting/overnight stays depending on the established relationship.
