Availability

I am currently an online student in college, so I have quite a bit of free time to spend time with pets. I am available almost every day! I also volunteer at an animal shelter, but my hours are flexible. I do take same-day bookings, but there is a possibility that I am busy at the time you want. But if you are able to adjust your time, I will be able to help care for your furry friend!

Safety, trust & environment

As a dog walker, I am keen on using harnesses and regular leashes, no retracted ones. This ensures a lot more safety for the dog on walks! I also am very aware of the environment around me, even in new areas. I will watch for any potential danger, and of course anything your dog could eat or accidentally step on. For pet sitting visits, I will ensure the safety of your home and pet during my visit. I will make sure all of the doors are locked on the way out, supervised-only toys are out of reach, and prevent any escapees from reaching the outdoors. I will also make sure your furry friend has enough water and food if requested. Within any emergency, you will be the first call, followed by Rover emergency support, and then your emergency contact if necessary. I will do everything to make sure your furry friend is safe, but if something happens, your pet is in good hands. I'm aware of the closest vets around this area and the emergency vet in Annapolis.

Information Adalyn S. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your pet... - Is not friendly or reactive I will not take aggressive pets, but I will take reactive pets. If their trigger is something like other dogs or touching specific parts of their body, that is able to be accommodated. - Needs medication, gentler care, or is prone to medical problems. I will of course take care of these furry friends! I just need to know what special care and/or medication they need. - Is difficult with or struggles during the administration of medication (if applicable). I will still care for these pets, I just need a heads-up and a few tips on what works to get your furry friend their medicine! - Pulls on the leash or is prone to chasing after cars, animals, or people on a walk. Depending on the size and/or strength of the dog, I might not be able to walk your dog. Also, feel free to let me know anything you deem important about your pet. Their personality, likes and dislikes, temperament, or current training is all important to me for proper pet care!

A typical day

Whatever your dog or cat prefers, I can adjust to! Short or long walks, playing or relaxing, cuddling or distant observation, anything your furry friend needs. Whatever your schedule and care plan is, I will make sure to follow! Dog walking stays get an immediate friendly greeting and their preferred distance walk upon arrival! After me and your pup arrive back, I will offer water and treats if requested. I will make sure your dog and home are in tip-top shape before I say goodbye. All pet drop-ins are followed with your instructions of care. Feeding, fetching fresh water, cleaning litter boxes, administering medicine, playing, and cuddling are all part of the drop-in experience, as requested. I will make sure to stay the full 30 or 60 minutes to ensure your furry friend gets the full experience and they remain happy and calm.

Pet care experience

- Through family and friend recommendation, I have walked dogs and pet sat other people's furry friends since I was a teenager, around 6 years ago - I have 4 cats of my own and have had 2 dogs and 4 different cats throughout my past! 🐕🐈‍⬛ - I volunteer at an animal shelter! - I've cared for kittens, puppies, senior dogs & cats, little & big dogs, and some pets who need some special tender loving care 💕 - I have given oral and topical medication on a multitude of occasions - I am able to adapt to the needs for different kinds of pets, like a dog who needs longer walks or a cat who prefers to be left alone - I've met and cared for pets of many personalities and pets with triggers, such as a dog who was not friendly towards other dogs for example. I have been able to navigate through the pet's triggers successfully and keep a calm, happy pet! - I care a lot about the safety and happiness of every animal I've ever been entrusted with. Your pet will be in good hands 🐾 And if your furry friend needs some special care, you can trust I will meet those needs!
