Pet care experience

Cat care from a cat loving guy!

Hi! I’m Ace Smith, a cat lover of several years, as well as head cat caregiver of my house hold. I’ve been taking care of cats consistently since I was 12. I've grown up with cats, never having fewer than 2 in my household. I've experienced all sorts of feline personalities and needs. From shy, skittish cats to people oriented, fearless cats. Additionally I have some experience in medically complex cats. Currently, my house has 3 cats named Storm, Collin, and Mango (also known as "Mongoose"). As an autistic person I understand, and appreciate, the routine, cleaning, and love that it takes to have a happy and fulfilled cat (or cats! The more the merrier!). I'm calm, patient, and have a very flexible schedule to be available to your cat's needs. I'm happy to help with daily litter-box cleanings, deep cleanings, daily feedings, playtimes/enrichment, or just keeping them company so they don't feel as lonely without their person(s) with them!

Safety, trust & environment

To provide safe, comfortable, stress-free cat care for your kitty, I always move at their pace and follow all care instructions exactly. I make sure they have fresh water, clean litter, and meals made to their demanding kitty standards. I never force interaction and always respect their boundaries to build trust gradually, as meeting a new person can be stressful for cats. I take safety of your home and kitty seriously so I always keep all windows and doors secured, double checking that your cat is safely inside before I leave. Updates with pictures and videos will be provided regularly every visit so you can always see the light(s) of your life!

Ace was an incredible petsitter for our two cats! They both seemed to warm up to him really quickly and we came home to very happy kitties. He's a great communicator and we enjoyed getting photos and updates at visits. Ace will be the first person I call when we travel in the future. I highly recommend him!

Great experience with Ace. We had special medication for 1 of the cats and he handled it with ease. He took care of our boys and allowed us to enjoy our well needed vacation. Will USE HIM ALWAYS! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Ace did a wonderful job with our 2 cats! They both loved him, he gave them lots of attention and helped keep things as normal as possible for them while we were away. Ace had no issue giving my older boy medication and followed all directions perfectly. Will definitely use him again.

I’m an Engineering student at Gateway Community College. I have a very flexible and consistent schedule, so I can make your cat(s) a priority everyday. I provide reliable daily care, attention, and routine without rushing, and I'm happy to visit them multiple times throughout the day.

Cats
Ace can host up to 6 drop-ins per day
This section will go over the information I need to know from you, and what I would like you to know about what to expect from me, please read all the way through. Thank you! *MEET AND GREETS* I offer meet and greets before booking to make sure you and your cat feel comfortable with me beforehand, as choosing the right person for your kitty is a big decision. I would be more than happy to come and visit you at your home, or in a public location of your choice, to discuss the following: -Your cat’s daily routine/preferences -What you would like me to do during visits (feeding schedule, litter cleanings, any special requests i.e tucking your cat into bed every night) -Emergency Information (Emergency contact and Veterinarian information) -Medical information (Medication and showing/explaining how *you* do it, special needs, medical information I should know) -Your cat’s favorite things for comfort (TV shows they like, if they have a favorite utensil, any favorite toys, other comfort items, etc) -Your house rules (alarms, keys, where things are) Additionally, if we meet at your home, and your cat is comfortable, we can do a calm introduction with you there to reduce anxiety during future visits. If you have printed out documents of exactly what you need me to do, I’ll happily accept those. *KITTY UPDATE INFORMATION* I will provide photo, video, and text updates at every visit. If you have a preference for these updates, be sure to let me know so I can accommodate you! *EMERGENCY INFORMATION* For the safety of your cat, please provide an emergency contact, and a preferred veterinary clinic. In the rare event something happens, I will attempt to make contact with you first, but if urgent care is needed, I will contact your veterinarian, as well as you and your emergency contact. *BEHAVIORAL DISCLOSURE* Beforehand, please inform me if your cat has a history of anxiety, biting, scratching, hiding, or stress around new people. I don't mind and I don't judge, but I would like to be aware so I can make this as easy and safe as possible for myself and your cat. It also helps me detect if your cat is behaving unusually. *BATHING INFORMATION* If you have a sphynx, hairless cat, or cat that requires baths: I am able to help bathe them, but ONLY if they're used to baths. I am not a professional groomer, so I will have to charge an extra fee, and supplies must be provided by the owner. *HOUSE & PRIVACY* I will respect your house and privacy at all times. The only areas I will access are those relating to your cat, please make sure they are either marked or easily accessible. I follow all home instructions exactly, so please let me know about any entry codes/keys, alarms, where to dispose of cat litter, cleaning preferences, and any other important information. I double-check that all doors and windows are secured before leaving, and that all cats are accounted for. Your privacy and your cat's safety are priorities. I will treat your home with the same respect that I would expect from someone entering mine. *BOOKING AND COMMUNICATION* I respond to messages as quickly as I can, and am happy to answer any and all questions you may have. For first time clients, I strongly encourage a meet and greet so I can best care for your cat, though I understand it's not always possible. If you need to adjust any visit times, instructions, or need to cancel please let me know as far in advance as you can, so I can plan accordingly. For safety and insurance, all bookings and communications must remain on Rover as is required by policy. Thank you!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
