Pet care experience

Fun, enjoyable day for your pet!

I’ve previously owned a shih tsu for 12 years and boxer for 7 years, in addition to taking care of various dogs, cats, fish, Guinea pigs, and hamsters over the years. We haven’t had our own dog at our house since our boxer passed away in 2020. But Rover is wonderful because it allows me to be a dog aunt and love on the pups while they are staying with us. Since I began dog boarding on Rover, I have watched over 20 dogs, including Labrador Retrievers, English Springer Spaniels, Pitbull Mixes, Scottish Terriers, German Shepherds, Goldendoodles, Blue Heelers, American Bulldogs, and many more. I have taken care of many animals (mostly dogs and cats) for friends, family members, neighbors, and people I have been recommended to by word-of-mouth over the years. I always strive to work hard and do my best. Your pet will be treated like a member of the family! I am available to take care of dogs with special needs or backgrounds. I have taken care of dogs with specific food allergies, epilepsy, and a history of trauma. I have also taken care of several rescue dogs and a service dog. I am comfortable administering medication and adapting to fit your pet’s needs. Please let me know how I can make their stay a very enjoyable experience!

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Abigail! Every year our family takes a week-long beach vacation to 30A, and this was the first time we boarded Rocket in someone’s home instead of a traditional kennel. Rocket is a very clingy little guy. He is happiest when he’s right beside us, looking for an opportunity to jump in a lap or curl up on the couch for a snuggle. Needless to say, we were a little nervous about how he’d do. We shouldn’t have worried. Abigail and her three sweet daughters treated Rocket like he was part of the family. He got plenty of playtime, daily walks, and, most importantly, lots of couch snuggles and attention. It was obvious from the photos that he felt completely at home. Abigail was also outstanding with communication. Throughout the week she kept us updated through the Rover app with messages and photos. I think she sent more than 65 pictures while we were away! Seeing Rocket happy and relaxed made it so much easier for us to enjoy our vacation. If you’re looking for someone who will genuinely love and care for your dog as if it were her own, I can’t recommend Abigail highly enough. She is wonderful, and we will absolutely book with her again.

I wasn't sure how Mirra would do spending 4 days with Abigail, but it went really well and that was a relief since we had always boarded her elsewhere. Mirra was happy, tail wagging when we dropped her off and she enjoyed all the attention from Abigail and her children while there. Abigail is good at providing details along with several pictures while she's taking care of pets. If you have any questions, she gets back to you promptly. I'm glad Mirra has such a loving and caring family to stay with when we're not able to take Mirra with us. We will definitely reach out to Abigail again when we need to board Mirra.

This was our first time taking Mirra to spend the day with Abigail and her lovely family. It went well! Abigail was so good about sending pictures during the day and notes. We'll plan on having Mirra spend time there again. Abigail is very good about seeing to her pets' needs. I think Mirra felt right at home, other than there were children in this home, who were very sweet to her!

Abigail took great care of our pups and accommodated them last minute when our holiday travel plans changed last minute. She was very responsive, provided meaningful updates, and lots of pictures of our pups having fun.

Abigail was wonderful with my pup. Kiwi is blind and requires extra TLC, and Abigail provided that and more. Kiwi needs eye drops and medication twice a day, and Abigail handled everything with ease and care. She was very responsive and consistently sent photos, which was so reassuring and sweet to see. I recently moved to Texas and had been searching for the right sitter for a while, and I immediately felt comfortable with Abigail. She was incredibly thoughtful and took the time to walk through each of Kiwi’s routines with me. I am so happy to say I have found a permanent sitter for Kiwi. I would absolutely recommend her without hesitation.

Schedule

I am a stay-at-home mom, so I have a lot of flexibility to take care of your pet, go on walks, and play! We are home a lot of the day and almost always with your pup. I have 3 children who love to play with them as well. It is an exciting time whenever there is a dog (or two!) staying with us. We usually go out for a potty break at least 4-5 times per day: in the morning, at least a couple times during the day, and usually around dinner time and bedtime. We like to take long walks as well; please let me know if this is not something you prefer. We give breakfast around 7am and dinner around 6pm usually, unless otherwise directed by the owner. We love to give lots of treats too! After all, this is your pet’s vacation as well!

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced yard and a good-sized property in a suburban neighborhood. There is room to play catch and run around in the backyard. We go on walks, play inside, and play outside. I can give baths as needed. We have lots of fun! I send pictures and updates at least once or twice a day, sometimes more.

A typical day

We have lots of fun playing games and running around in the backyard!! We go on long walks throughout the neighborhood and have fun at the park around the corner. There’s lots of room to run and play! Most of the dogs we’ve watched enjoy snuggling on the couch with us too. We’re home a lot, so we are almost always in the same room with the pup we’re watching.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Crate-trained dogs only
Abigail can host up to 5 pets per night
Please let me know about any special needs or specific behaviors I should be aware of beforehand. I do have three children who are comfortable around dogs and cats. We also prefer for you to bring a crate in case we need to leave during your pet’s stay. Our goal is to be with your pet as much as possible, all day if possible. We take them with us on car rides when possible to limit time in the crate. I always take great care of each pet and the more knowledge, the better to provide a safe, enjoyable, fun visit! I truly enjoy spending time with your dog and getting to know their personality and have fun with them!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
