Pet care experience

Treating your pets like my own

I’ve grown up around dogs and cats and have always been passionate about animal care. I’m graduating this May from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, and I’ll be starting veterinary school this fall. Through my education and experience shadowing and working in veterinary clinics, I’ve gained valuable knowledge about animal health, behavior, and safety. I’ve also pet sat for friends and family, caring for pets of many sizes and personalities—from small beagle-sized dogs to large breeds like Great Pyrenees, as well as cats. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, exercise, administering basic care, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. My background in animal science and veterinary environments helps me recognize signs of stress or health concerns early, so your pets will be in attentive and knowledgeable hands.

Abigail was a fantastic sitter for our dog! I would highly recommend her. She has wonderful communication and we didn’t worry a bit about our dogs care the entire week we were gone.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety and comfort are my top priorities when caring for pets. I always try to keep pets on their normal routine as much as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions the owner provides. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make sure they feel secure in their familiar environment while providing plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I also keep the space clean and make sure doors, gates, and leashes are handled carefully to prevent any accidents or escapes. With my background studying Animal Science at The Ohio State University and experience in veterinary clinics, I’m attentive to pet behavior and health. I can recognize signs of stress or illness and will communicate quickly with owners if anything seems unusual. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away.

Pets

A typical day

I provide a fun, safe, and engaging environment for every pet I watch! Dogs enjoy daily walks and supervised playtime, including access to fenced areas in my complex where they can run freely and burn off energy. For pets who prefer a calmer pace, I make sure they get plenty of attention, affection, and relaxation time so they feel comfortable and at home.
