I have a lot of free time at the moment, and I already go for long walks most days — it’s part of my routine, something I started when I had Marley. Looking after dogs fits so naturally into my schedule, and I genuinely enjoy the company. It never feels like a chore — it feels like home.

Safety, trust & environment
Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or theirs, I focus on creating a calm, safe, and loving environment where they feel comfortable and cared for. At my home, I provide a quiet, pet-friendly space with plenty of outdoor time, regular walks, play, and attention. I stick closely to your dog’s routine — meals, medication, and habits — to help them feel at home. When caring for pets in their own home, I keep things consistent with their daily schedule, offer companionship, and treat both the pet and the home with the utmost respect. I’m happy to provide updates along the way, and no matter the setting, I always care for every dog as if they were my own.
Information Abigail M. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for any pet, it’s really important for me to understand their routine, personality, and any specific needs. I like to know things like: What’s their usual feeding and walk schedule? Are they comfortable around other dogs or prefer their own space? Do they have any medical conditions, allergies, or take medication? I also ask about their energy levels, favorite toys or activities, and any habits or fears (like loud noises or separation anxiety). The more I know, the better I can make sure your pet feels happy, safe, and relaxed while you're away.
A typical day
I love making sure dogs not only feel safe and cared for, but also have fun and stay stimulated! Depending on their energy level and preferences, I’ll take them on engaging walks through parks or quiet nature trails, play games like fetch or tug-of-war, and give them plenty of time to sniff and explore — which is mentally enriching for them. For older or more relaxed dogs, I’m just as happy to keep them company with gentle brushing, belly rubs, or even sitting together with music or a podcast. I tailor activities to each dog’s personality and needs, always aiming to make their time with me enjoyable and comforting.

Caring for Your Dog Like They're Family
Pet care experience
Hi, I'm Abby, a recent Neuroscience graduate from the University of Edinburgh and a lifelong dog lover. For many years, I shared my life with my beloved dog Marley, who brought so much joy and companionship into our home. After Marley passed away, neighbours and friends—who had seen how lovingly we cared for him—began asking me to look after their dogs too. It’s become something I truly cherish. Spending time with dogs brings me comfort and joy, and I understand how much they mean to their families. Whether it's going on walks, providing company while you're away, or simply giving them the care and attention they deserve, I treat every dog as if they were my own. With a background in Neuroscience, I also have a deep appreciation for animal behaviour and wellbeing. I’m calm, reliable, and deeply empathetic—traits that I believe make me a trusted friend to both dogs and their owners. If you're looking for someone who genuinely cares, has real experience, and misses the companionship of a furry friend, I'd love to help.

Abby house and dog sat for a week and was fantastic from start to finish. Communication before, during, and after were great. We felt incredibly comfortably reassured that our house and dogs were being well looked after. We would 100% recommend Abby and Sonny to others, and gladly welcome them back again as two lovely people.
