Pet care experience
Reliable, responsible, and friendly
I didn't have dogs growing up but I always pet-sat for friends and family. I have dog-sat, walked, and groomed dogs of all sizes. I also grew up riding horses so I have a ton of experience handling dogs and other animals together. My first dog was a 100 pound German shepherd/ Rottweiler mix who was my heart and soul. We lived with a big Rottweiler for a few years so I got very comfortable handling multiple large dogs on my own. Then when I got married my ex husband and I had my old dog, two pit bulls, and a cattle dog/ jack russel mix. I was there sole care taker and they taught me so much. I got divorced and it was just me and my shepherd, who sadly passed away in 2022. Fast forward to now and I have a 5 year old son and a Dalmatian/ terrier mix. We treat her as well as we treat my little boy. We recently (well in the last year) added a young female foxhound to the family. She is SO sweet and silky and has been the best addition to our mix! The past ten or so years have given me so much experience caring for multiple dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperments. I’m just super passionate about giving my animals and those I care for the absolute best care I can. It’s also given me experience administering medication, giving shots, walking multiple dogs at a time, feeding special individualized diets, taking care of a special needs dog, etc. I’m just a true animal lover :)

This was my first time doing pet sitting with my 7 month old puppy and I was super nervous but Abigail was so helpful and calmed my nerves sending me pictures and videos of my dog. I felt super comfortable knowing he was okay and on his own little vacation. Her dogs were so playful and sweet even with a size difference. A bonus is my dog came back so well behaved it was crazy he learned a-lot from her dogs is such a good way and that says a lot for a puppy😂 I will only be booking with Abigail!

Sent so many pictures of my girl throughout the day and gave plenty of updates. Willow came home exhausted after playing all day and making new friends! Her dogs are super sweet and played so well with willow. Highly recommend Abigail to anyone!!!

Lucy enjoyed her stay with Abby. Thanks for accommodating us last minute.
Abby was very friendly and sent me updates on how Bailey was doing. She had a great fenced yard which was great to have for Bailey to run around in. I would definitely recommend Abby and rebook her for another stay.

Great first visit! Pups looked happy and loved on!

I never got to meet Abby because my parents brought my puppy to play with Abby and her dogs while I was out of town. However, Abby sent me lots of pictures of my puppy throughout the day and kept me updated. My dad also said she handled him very well when he seemed scared to enter the new environment. I returned to a happy puppy and am glad that I chose to book Abby to play with him while I was gone!

Schedule
I am currently not working so my schedule is incredibly flexible to meet your pets needs around the clock. I wake up early, let the dogs out in the backyard, feed them, let them out again. They usually play outside for a little bit before coming inside to nap. When my husband gets home we take them on walks, play in the yard, or go walk our favorite trail. Then we go home, feed dinner, and relax until bed time!

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
At home my dog is walked Atleast three times a day, and one of those walks is always somewhere different- the beach, the park, the cross city trails, etc. When we’re hanging at home we provide lots of enrichment activities, playtime with toys, and also enjoy just snuggling on the couch. While your dog is in my care they will receive the same. We feed our dog a special diet and she requires daily allergy medication so meeting your dogs dietary and medication needs is no issue. Our dog is allowed on furniture, so as long as it is okay with you we have no problem with your pup joining us on the couch or in our bed. However if they aren’t allowed, we have multiple dog beds in each room so they can still be comfortable while we’re being lazy. Although we no longer have a fenced yard, our yard is pretty big and we take our dog out on the long lead often to sniff and play so your dog will receive lots of outside time as well.

A typical day
As I said above, a typical day for us is waking up around 5am, walking our dog, feeding her, taking her out again, and then playing until we leave for work. I come home about 4 hours later to let her out and either go for a walk or play in the yard for a bit and then head back to work. I get home a few minutes after 4 and take her out and then load her up in the car to head to the park, the trails, or the beach for a long walk/ run/ swim or playtime. We head home after that and feed her, eat dinner ourselves, and then spend the evening relaxing together. Well let her out again and then head to bed where she sleeps with us.
