Animal lover, new to DC!

I grew up around animals and began volunteering at the local animal shelter in high school. In college, I dog sat around my campus/neighborhood and in my hometown on breaks. I also worked as a dog sitter for a theatre company one summer, and I’ve fostered two adult cats. Having just moved to DC, I really miss my pets at home. Animals are a big part of my life and I want to keep that active through both dog sitting and volunteering at local shelters.

Safety, trust & environment

I grew up with several dogs and cats, so I’ve loved animals for a long time. The most important thing to me is quality time and that really varies depending on the pet. When my family dogs were younger, I frequently walked them around the neighborhood and played outside in our yard. With calmer or older dogs, I really enjoy snuggles or just sitting with them. I also love playful dogs/cats and enjoy throwing a ball or tug of war, etc. Overall, I’m big on really being present with them. Additionally, I send frequent photos; I know the feeling of missing one’s pets, so I want to make sure owners don’t feel too separated.

Abigail was a wonderful sitter for Snicker and Finley. She was easy to communicate with and sent regular updates during my trip. I will happily have her take care of my babies again!

She was a fabulous walker. Provided my dog with the utmost care and understanding. Made sure he had time to explore his interests, ( sniffing). She also took the time to make sure my dog was comfortable with her instead of just forcing him to walk. She took care of my puppy like it was her own. Would use her again 10/10.

Abigail is a wonderful pet sitter and I’d recommend her without reservation. She has cared for our two labradoodles for overnight stays. Not only do the dogs love her, but she sends me pictures of them when we are missing them, she keeps our home in perfect order and I feel completely confident in her ability to manage any emergency issues that might arise. One of our dogs has a seizure disorder and stomach issues and I felt confident Abigail could care for his needs. She also took the time to come over in person for a run down of the dogs’ routine, the medication schedule, details about the house, etc, which made me feel better about leaving the dogs in her capable hands. She is a very bright young woman and I trust her fully in our home, with our beloved pets and I’m sure you’ll love her too!

I always trust Abigail with our 3 dogs and 2 cats. They get lots of loving when she's around! More importantly she is reliable, attentive to instructions and honest. Recommend her 100% to care for anyone's furbabies!
