Information Abigail "Abby" A. would like to know about your pet

Before I watch a new dog, there are a few things that I like to know. What is your dog's energy level? What is their feeding schedule? Do they have any special dietary restrictions? How do they interact with other dogs? What is their personality? Do they like to cuddle or have their belly rubbed? And other information of this nature. I also offer meet and greets to ensure that they appreciate the space and interact well with my corgi, Tater.

A typical day

In addition to playing for hours in my yard, I love to take walks around my neighborhood. We might walk to the Monon Trail or explore Fort Ben with your permission. No matter what they day entails it will end with lots of scratches and snuggles.

Fenced-in for your fur baby!

Pet care experience

I know how nerve-racking it can be to leave your pet in the care of someone else, but I believe my past experience, love for animals, attentiveness, and commitment to safety will put you at ease. I have been pet sitting for friends and family for over 15 years. As a lover of dogs of all kinds, I take any chance I can get to walk, snuggle, play, feed, or love on a good boy (or girl!). I have experience with breeds as small as a micro teacup Maltese (about five lbs), as large as a newfoundland (about 140 lbs), and everything in between. In addition to years of watching pet’s of friends and families, I have raised two puppies of my own in the past five years. Both Pembroke Welsh Corgis, my potato pups (Tater Tot and Spud) taught me how to attend to the different needs of different dogs, train patiently and effectively, and give the perfect belly rubs. While some dogs require lots of play in the back yard, others prefer to be walked on a leash. Similarly, while some dogs can self-feed throughout the day, other dogs need a slow-feeder to ensure they chew their food. Whatever your dog might need, I am here to learn and provide. To ensure it's a good fit for both of us, and our dogs, I do offer meet and greets in my yard before your pets' stay. I will also like to learn a few things about your pet before their trip to my home. This may include: What is their personality? What is their routine (feeding, walking, medication if applicable)? How have they been trained? (Do they get a treat for going potty? Are they allowed on furniture in your home? Do they sleep in a crate? etc.) I currently work full-time, however my office is less than five minutes from my home. I can easily schedule to go take care of your babies during lunch, including a walk, part-way through my 7.5 hour work day. Well watching your animal, I will prioritize being home during the evening. I live in a single-family home with a fenced in yard. There are no dogs on either side. I have no children in the home, but do have one extremely friendly corgi named Tater Tot. We live in a walkable neighborhood, just minutes from the Monon Trail. I also have a state park pass, which we frequently use to walk around Fort Ben. If being active isn’t high on your pup’s agenda, that’s okay too. I love to rub bellies, give lots of pets, and share some snuggles. Whatever we do, I will keep you up to date by sharing photos of your pup while you are away. I approach this work with the knowledge that you know your animal best. I look forward to learning how I can put you at ease, knowing that your baby is cared for, safe, and loved.

We recently relocated to the Indy area and were hoping to find a trustworthy sitter for our dog, and Abby absolutely exceeded our expectations! From the start, she was incredibly responsive, communicative, and thoughtful. She sent regular updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our pup was being loved and cared for like one of her own. We feel so lucky to have found Abby and can’t recommend her highly enough to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter. We will definitely be booking with her again!
