I’m Abby, thank you for stopping by my profile! 🐾 I’ve been caring for animals for over 14 years, including owning multiple dogs at once, and I have professional experience working as a pet care specialist, and animal caretaker for a few pet daycares. I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all sizes and ages, including seniors, strays, and rescues, as well as fish, birds, amphibians, rodents, and reptiles. Since starting Rover part-time in 2023, I have been trusted to care for 80+ animals. I’m Pet First Aid Certified (Levels 1 & 2) through the Ottawa Humane Society, a course I took specifically to be prepared to care for other people’s pets. I have experience administering oral medications, puffers, and insulin. Before starting Rover, I volunteered at an animal rescue in Uganda for 7 months, where I helped nurse newborn kittens and puppies, did basic wound care, and worked on socializing stray dogs and cats. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for so many different animals, and I know that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs.
