I am home full-time with my kids, our farm chores are very simple and don't take a lot of time so we have time between school lessons and house chores to do potty breaks, walks and playtime when it is needed.

Our farm animals are all inside fencing to keep them safe. Boarding dogs would all be on leash, or run lines - if they want extra outside time. We have 25 beautiful acres that we can use to walk and explore to get dogs some exercise. Our dogs are friendly, but if personalities clash, we do have the space to also keep our dogs away. All dogs will have access to a crate in order for them to get down time, these will be kept in our basement living space so resting dogs are out of access of our 2 year old daughter.

Information Abby F. would like to know about your pet
Prior to booking I would love to know if your dog has any special needs ~ diet plans or medications that they would need during their stay. It is also important for me to know if they are good with kids and other dogs, though we do have the space to keep our dogs separate. It would also be helpful to know what their daily routines are so we can keep them on track and less stressed during their stay. I really hope to offer an experience that the dogs and owners can both feel comfortable with.
A typical day
We will try to keep days as similar to what your pet is used to at home. We have lots of space to go for walks around our acreage, with the opportunity for your dog to experience all the sights and smells that come with being on a homestead. Also our kids have always wanted to experience a dog that loves to play fetch...neither of ours enjoy it... so if yours does ~ they are in for a treat!

Pet care experience
I have been an animal lover my entire life, always owning at least a family dog. Before children, I worked at and managed horse barns. Those jobs gave me many skills when it comes to working with animals of varying sizes and temperaments, I also learned to administer medications and follow strict feeding plans. I have now been living on my own 25 acre homestead for almost 7 years. Here we have many different animals including our two outdoor farm dogs Hank (Aussie/Golden mix) and Neenah (Anatolian/Mareema mix), ducks, chickens, barn cats, rabbits, goats and the family horse. I am here all week caring for our own animals and homeschooling my 4 children, who are also animal lovers that are involved in several 4-H animal projects. Our human children range from 2-11 years old and have been raised up with animal safety and respect a top priority since it is incredibly important to me. Kids will never be left unattended with animals. Though you better believe that if your doggo loves cuddles, that I have a few kids and myself included, that would love to spoil them while they are with us.

Abby and her family are fantastic! They watched my dog Seger for the week. I got updates and pictures throughout the week, which was great and put me at ease. I was able to enjoy my vacation while Seger was enjoying extra snuggles and loves from the family. I would use Abby again and I know Seger can’t wait to visit!
We were really nervous about Rosie's first stay away from home. She is still quite shy with strangers and just starting to count on her routines. Abby was unafraid and kept in communication with us over the weekend about her progress. It sounds like she had a tenuous start, but with love and patience, Abby calmed down and began to embrace her new family and home. It says a lot that they built trust with her so quickly. She came home happy, energized and healthy. We're grateful for the gentle care she received and look forward to building a longterm relationship with them.
