I have spent my life with both cats (anywhere from one to five at at time) and dogs (from a dachshund to a couple of extra large Newfoundlands) and loved them all. I am looking to add in some additional pet care in the DC area. I am comfortable with puppies and dogs of all sizes -- and care needs. As a runner, I'm happy to go for a run with an active pup or just hang and keep a couple of kitties company; whatever would suit your and your furry family members' needs best. For full time care, I work remotely and can board up to one (cat-friendly*) dog at mine or easily house/pet sit at yours during weekdays or weekends. For cats (or birds or guinea pigs) that just need someone to stop by a few times a day, I am available both weekends and weekdays.

I was super nervous about leaving my dog with someone for a week. This was the first time for both of us. Abby was incredible from start to finish , super professional, prompt responses, lots of photos and videos. She stayed at my place full-time and to be honest with you when I got back. It was more clean than when I left it. Lol. If you’re looking for someone, who’s gonna love your dog and look after them like you would she’s definitely the person to book.
Abby was a wonderful dog sitter for our pup Gracie while we were away for a long weekend. She sent regular updates and photos, and we could definitely tell that Gracie felt like a member of the family. In addition to treating our dog like a princess, Abby was such a joy to interact with--kind, thoughtful, flexible, and communicative. 10/10. Would definitely use Abby again!
Both of my girls have quirks and both Abby & Charlotte have been nothing but welcoming, taking such good care of our girls. Recently we had two back-to-back lengthy trips, somewhat unexpectedly, and we're relieved to know Abby & Charlotte were open to watching them both trips. Lillian & Freyja got all the cuddles, I got plenty of updates, and my doggos have been super excited each time they get to go for a visit.
Both of my doggos seem to really enjoy staying with Abby. They get walks, sun bathing time in the yard, treats, and plenty of cuddles. Abby is always quick to respond and provides great updates throughout the stay. Will be a repeat for as long as possible!

Abby was lovely to meet and took great care of both my girls. Adorable pictures and good updates throughout their stay. Definitely recommend her services and would be happy to have her watch my girls again.

Schedule
Currently work full-time, but fully remote, so my schedule is flexible during the week and weekends. I have blocked off times during which I’m out of town, but my available dates reflect to those when I’m home, hanging, and truly free to prioritize your pet.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced yard and a walkable neighborhood here in Capitol Hill. For dogs, I can accommodate a crate, as needed. I’m happy to know your routine for meals and walks and will follow that to a T. For cats, I usually plan to stop in 1-2 times per day and linger. I know that part of the care is the food and litter, but equally important is good quality time while you’re away from home and from them.

A typical day
I can promise a collection of good walks around the neighborhood, some time in the fenced in back yard to play, and probably some time cuddling on the couch with a show before bed. And with cats, I’ll play with them as long as they’ll have me! I’m a true cat lover, and I think they can sense that!

- Please let me know if your dog has any reactivity or behavioral challenges or sensitivities. I’ve spent time with a broad spectrum of pet from docile cats to larger, more reactive dogs. I love dogs, but proceed with care as I know every dog is different and reactions to their environments can really vary - safety and comfort for all is my priority.
