Pet care experience

In our family, your dog is our dog

My Why? I get to spend serious cuddle and play time with breeds of all shapes and sizes. I get to love on them and care for them like they are mine! Is there seriously any cooler job? Since making the move from Cincinnati to NKY, in order to keep my current clients, I am offering to meet near the airport. Fostering with rescues showed me how much I enjoy all the different dog personalities there are. It takes a special trust to leave your animal with someone else, and I don’t take that lightly. I work 2 days a week at St. Elizabeth hospital (CNA) so I can be home more to homeschool which means I’m home for many hours. On days I work, I come home on lunch for bathroom breaks and often times my SO tends to the dogs with me or for me. My kids love to help out, but they also understand that not every dog is cool with smaller humans. I do have crates and baby gates, but they aren’t used often unless needed. I like to have your dog's blend right into our home alongside ours. I provide limited ingredient easily digestible treats approved by you. I do NOT give real dog bones or people food to pets, not even my own. When we walk we take water with us every time. My family & I love playing chase in the backyard or throwing toys for fetch with all the dogs. Sometimes I book more than 1 Rover family at a time, I always make sure it's a good fit before doing so. I take pride in matching energy levels as well as age to balance out if certain dogs need space outside of the pack play time. Meet & Greets are invaluable opportunities for everyone involved! It often helps everyone to feel as ease, even your pet! Most of the time I plan for a short walk with you and your pet alongside my dog and then we follow up with off leash play in the dog park at my house. I do take in consideration the pets ability level when planning how the meet will go. For example, senior dogs may need to just see the play yard and inside the house where they will be relaxing. Every dog is different and I adjust accordingly.

I was very impressed with Abbie’s ability to accommodate my Chihuahua Rafael’s needs in an unfamiliar situation. He’s nearly four-years old, and we are together 24/7, which has made him “clingy.” I call him “high maintenance” because he loves long walks, an hour or more twice a day, and I indulge him. Abbie’s backyard gave him plenty of room to run. I would highly recommend Abbie.

Abbie is amazing with my girls! They seem excited to be there everytime I drop them off and come back home tired and happy. They never look stressed or pent up, and she’s really great at communicating - especially around pickup and drop off time, even providing pictures throughout their stay. The boarding area is a large spacious home with a wide backyard for the pups to run around and play. I love Abbie and would highly recommend her to anyone willing to make the drive!

I left a tip when I picked Rusty up today. Abbie is the best at taking care of Rusty. I will always use her to take care of Rusty when I have to be away.

Safety, trust & environment

Completely filling out your pets Rover profile helps with caring for them. I always follow any instructions I’m given so it’s easier on everyone. I like to stay close to the pets home schedule so they aren’t experiencing a lot of change at once.

A typical day

I can walk with your dog as well have them as my copilot in the car. Hikes are fun but I can respect a good nap time too. We love a good splash and play session in our mini dog pool.

Any tips or tricks you want to give me is great. I love knowing anything you have to share so I can make your dog's experience better. Favorite toy or treat? Potty trained? Any food or toy aggression? Scared of any household items, like vacuums?
