I currently am on a sabbatical from work and exploring many new hobbies and crafts. I have ample time and flexibility to help get your pet the attention they need! I often commute by e-bike when possible but also drive for longer distances!

If house sitting for you, I pride myself on treating your house like I would my own home. The care of your pet will always be first priority, but the home is a close second. I love being able to assist owners with small tasks or errands during my stay and ensuring you come home to a safe clean and well cared for house and pet! Staying at my place? I have a fenced yard for easy potty breaks and live close to the Virginia Corridor Trail for safe and easy walks around the neighborhood. My household (shared between 4 adult friends) has two dogs and a cat: Emmy, senior-citizen, medium size boxer-mix; Xeia, our black cat; and my small chiweenie/mix pup, Mochi.

I'd like to know how the dog reacts to strangers, especially if there isn't time for a meet and greet beforehand. It's also helpful to know what your dog's schedule is like as far as walks, potty breaks, and feeding. If you have any rituals or special commands I like to be consistent with those too.
A typical day
I love to find play practices that stimulate animals in a way that tires them out and makes them feel safe in their environment while their family is away. This can include fetch, low to high intensity walks, hide and seek, nose training, and of course cuddles on the couch too!

I'm a happy go lucky kind of guy and I think the dogs I care for pick up on that. I believe dogs deserve attention and development beyond just a walk. I love to stimulate their senses, tire them out, give them plenty of TLC and of course go on lots of walks and playtime. I've been animal sitting since I was 14. I have experience with puppies, older dogs, animals with dietary restrictions or medication needs, and animals with behaviour issues. I grew up with dogs, and have had them as part of my life ever since I can remember. I dog sat regularly for many clients in the Seattle area from 2018 to 2021. When we moved to Modesto I began to resume my dog sitting gigs from 2022-2024, meeting so many wonderful pet families here along the way. Most recently, my pup, Mochi, and I moved abroad to Spain, where I taught elementary school English for two years. Now, I'm back in Modesto for a few seasons and would love to be a part of caring for your furry family members! We could not have hoped for more, or imagined how great Aaron would be with Bruce. Aaron is a warm and present, gentle giant of a man. My 9.5 yr., 85 lb., neutered male Pittie Bruce goes weak in the knees when he meets someone like Aaron. Bruce fell instantly and completely in love with Aaron and didn’t even notice me leaving. They clicked so well they were doing everything that Bruce and I do with little or no separation anxiety. They took a nice long walk at exactly Bruce’s pace. I got the perfect number of pics of Bruce doing what he does when he’s happy. I had no separation anxiety either. Bruce curled up at Aaron‘s feet under the desk like he does with me. Played with his squeaky toy, and seemed to be completely relaxed. He may have whined a little bit, but Aaron quickly distracted him. But honestly, Bruce usually is a crying, shrieking, hot mess when I have to leave him for an hour or two with somebody . I’m definitely going to look up Aaron next time I come to Modesto for another bro date with him and Bruce.
Aaron was absolutely fantastic! We needed a dog sitter at the last minute, and he stepped in without hesitation to stay overnight with our two dogs. He took the time to learn each of their unique personalities, behaviors, and eating habits, and provided exceptional care. Our dogs are very particular and have completely different temperaments, but Aaron handled both of them with patience, attentiveness, and genuine kindness. It gave us tremendous peace of mind knowing they were in such capable hands. We came home to two happy, well-cared-for dogs, and we couldn’t be more grateful. If you’re looking for someone who is reliable, compassionate, and truly takes the time to understand your pets, I highly recommend Aaron. We would absolutely book him again!
