Take them on a walk to a nearby park or trail, allowing them to sniff and discover new scents. 3 Teach them new tricks: Dogs love to learn and be mentally stimulated. Teach them basic commands like sit, stay, or paw. You can also try more advanced tricks like roll over or play dead. 4 Set up an obstacle course: Create a mini obstacle course in your backyard or living space using objects like hula hoops, cones, and tunnels. Guide the dogs through the course and reward them for completing each task. 5 Organize a playdate: If the dogs you're watching are sociable, arrange a playdate with other friendly dogs. It can be a great opportunity for them to socialize, run around, and have fun together. 6 Provide puzzle toys: Puzzle toys are a fantastic way to engage dogs mentally.
