“Kaylee spent time with Copper when I dropped him off to make sure he was comfortable. He only spent the night and he had a kennel between two others. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall to see how he responded to being in the kennel between the two other occupied kennels. He was very happy to see me the next day as I was him! Kaylee was very friendly!”

“Jenny took great care of our dogs while we were out of town. Our dogs absolutely loved her and we were stress free leaving them with her the entire weekend. Thanks Jenny! :)”

“Mule was so wonderful with our two dogs! She communicated regularly and sent lots of pictures and even some videos. She's very attentive and the pictures showed how much fun everyone was having.”

“We are very reluctant to leave our dogs with anyone and never board them, that is until we meet eric I contacted him due to his reviews on Rover and I'm so glad I did! He made an appointment with us to come put and meet the dogs before hand. Which helped calm me more than the dogs or eric, I'm sure. :) He's very claiming, laid back and very easy to work with. I left comfortable dropping the dogs off to him, knowing they were in great hands. He sent us pictures and videos while we were away. I would recommend him to anyone, anytime and will definitely use him everytime we need a fabulous dog sitter!”

“Lindsay was terrific. Jason immediately felt comfortable in her home, climbing up on the coach and rolling around happily. She did a great job providing food and snuggles and walks.”

“LOVE ANGIE!!! She sent us so many pictures and updates of the girls. They absolutely loved the backyard and playing with the other dogs. The dogs were exhausted when they got home so I know they had so much fun there. We will most definitely reach out to Angie when we need someone to watch the girls again!”

“Bethany was great! I never like to leave my pup with someone else but Bethany sent me pictures and videos everyday. She reassured me he was having a great time playing with her dogs and getting lots of attention. I would highly recommend her and will definitely stay with her next time!”

“Kaylene was a wonderful host & made my dog feel right at home. She was very accommodating & kept an open line of communication the entire time, it was a great peace of mind. We plan on using her again for many more future boarding needs”

“Could not have asked for a better pet sitter! He kept me updated with lots of pictures, communicated consistently, and made sure my dogs got plenty of exercise. I felt so comfortable leaving my dogs in his care. Truly a 10/10 will definitely book again and recommend to anyone.”

I will give your furry friends lots of love and attention.
“Shelby took a very good care of my dog while I was out of town for business. She provided updates along with pics and videos without me asking, and that helped me not to worry about my dog. My dog had a good stay!”

“Adriana definitely eased our minds while we were away on vacation! Not only did Adriana care for our family 😻 pet we all love very much, but she also “looked after” the outdoor neighborhood “pets” that sometimes eat & stay in the makeshift “house” built to help them stay as warm as possible during these winter months!! She also went above & beyond doing some light housework inside & outside!”

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Independence home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
