About: Raised on a farm and a dog mom for 17 years, I’ve had animals at the center of my life since childhood. Caring for animals of all kinds is truly in my roots. I spent 13 years as a devoted dog mom to my late dachshund, Boston, and I now have a big, friendly rescue who has been by my side for 4 years. She’s a beautiful mix of Blue Tick Coonhound, American Foxhound, Lab, Bully, German Shepherd, and who knows what else, or as I like to call her, my Supermutt 🩷 Over the years, I’ve rescued dogs, cats, and other animals off the streets, and I’m constantly learning about animal health, behavior, and care so I’m prepared for any pet friend who comes into my home. Special skills: •Senior care: I’ve cared for two dogs into their senior years: my dachshund, Boston, and our family’s extra-large bully breed. I’m comfortable with older dogs, including slower walks, extra comfort, and medication schedules. I’m also comfortable administering injections if needed. •Anxious dogs and puppies: Boston was a very anxious pup, so I know how to help nervous dogs feel safe. I also have experience with puppies. •Training: I taught both of my dogs their basic commands, I’m currently taking a dog training course, and I plan to complete a pet CPR certification. •Dog-friendly home: My own dog is playful, loves to chill, and happily goes along with whatever her fur friends want. Availability: I’m available for drop-ins and walks in the evenings, and I can board low-maintenance dogs during the week since I work full time in an office Monday through Friday but I do take my own dog out in the mornings and again midday. My calendar on Rover will show is open Friday through Sunday and on holidays, but if you’re interested in weekday boarding, I’m happy to discuss it further. Friends, family, and neighbors have always turned to me when they need someone they can truly trust with their pets. I also live right next to a large park with trails, making it easy to get in enriching walks and outdoor adventures. My own dog Khaleesi is friendly and social with other dogs, so boarded pets will have a welcoming companion. I treat every animal in my care with the same love and attention I give my own, your pet will feel right at home.

Rick and Laura are the best, and our dog could feel it the moment she met them! Sophie enjoyed playing in the fenced-in yard, going for walks and even a hike. She is timid about some things, like seeing other dogs, but Rick and Laura took the time to help her through it, so she could continue her walks. Great communication, frequent updates, and the level of care is phenomenal. Their love and compassion for animals really shows. We're planning to have Sophie go for some day stays, since she had such a great time!
Karen is amazing! She welcomed our two dogs into her fold for a weekend and they were happy, entertained, and cared for extremely well. Karen sent us pictures throughout the weekend, showing how well they acclimated in near real-time. One of the dogs needed three medications twice a day, and this proved to be no issue whatsoever. While they were eventually happy to see us during pickup, they were obviously content with their place in the pack until they finally saw us. (Even then it took a moment for them to clock what was happening. This was our first time boarding them.) We would happily board them again with Karen in the future.
Shekeyla and her family loved our two pups while we were away on vacation, they showed amazing care and attention to them, walking, feeding, sleeping arrangements, all day attention.
