“Peppina ist ein absoluter "Schatz"! Innerhalb kürzester Zeit hatte sie Zugang gefunden zu meinem Kuki, der Fremden gegenüber sehr sehr ängstlich ist. Klar, dass er sich die ersten Stunden zurückgezogen hat, aber dann hat er mit Peppina gespielt und sich Leckerlis und natürlich Fressen geben lassen. Auch in der Wohnung war Peppina absolut sauber und ordentlich, ich habe alles so vorgefunden, wie es bei meiner Abreise war. Peppina hat sogar die Spülmaschine laufen lassen und den Müll entsorgt. Ich vertraue Peppina jederzeit wieder meinen Kater und meine Wohnung an!”

She’s quite an excitable dog and usually needs a bit of time to warm up to new people, so we arranged a few meet-and-greet visits before the actual house sit. Maxim was incredibly patient and accommodating throughout, which made a huge difference. Everything went very smoothly during the stay. He was easy to communicate with, reliable, and clearly very comfortable around dogs. The biggest reassurance for us was seeing how relaxed and happy Bella was with him. Über: I try to provide consent-based care and enjoy getting to know each individual dog: their quirks, negotiation strategies, love languages, mortal enemies, and very strongly held opinions about what we need to be sniffing next. I pay attention to their body language and preferences and like to build a friendship based on trust, safety and clear communication. I grew up with a golden retriever and volunteered at an animal shelter after she passed. I have experience with dogs of different sizes, energy levels, temperaments, ages and rescue backgrounds, including different needs around touch, exercise, food, other animals, disability and separation anxiety. I’m an artist and work mostly from home. Animals also turn up quite a lot in my work, so canine thinking is endlessly fascinating to me. Regular walks and runs are part of my enrichment too, so I always appreciate the company. I take the responsibility of caring for someone else’s dog very seriously, follow their established routines, and am happy to keep you regularly updated on what we’ve been up to. I work freelance, so my schedule is quite flexible. I can accommodate walks and drop-ins throughout the day, as well as daytime care and overnight stays. I can adapt walks, meals and rest time to their usual routine. I build trust gradually while paying close attention to the dog’s signals. At home, I give dogs space to settle at their own pace and make sure they have a calm, comfortable place to retreat to. I let the dog’s level of comfort with me determine how much cuddling is welcome. I love playtime and sniffaris, and adapt both activity and downtime to what each dog enjoys and needs. I’m happy to care for your pets either in their own home or mine. I live in a spacious 2-floor flat in Mitte with a flatmate who also loves dogs and is mostly away during the day. I also have access to a securely fenced Schrebergarten, where I can work on my laptop while dogs investigate all the new smells.

Über: I grew up with 5 dogs in my grandfather's farm, and I've had my heart open to them ever since. All through my years in Istanbul, I looked out for the street dogs around me. They all have pure of heart, they never ask for more than your care and a bit of warmth. Or sometimes they just want their piece in their space. I found a Husky living on the streets and took her in a few years ago. She stayed with me for about a year and a half while I searched for the right forever home, my apartment was too small for her spirit, and she needed somewhere with a garden, room to roam, and the freedom she deserved. Then I moved to Berlin, and since then I've been the go-to person for my friends' dogs. I've got the patience to read a dog's personality and give them exactly what they need, on their own timeline. I'm easygoing, and dogs tend to pick up on that fast, we usually hit it off within minutes. I'm just as happy tearing around all afternoon as I am settling in for cuddles and a nap. I'll match whatever energy they bring. But more than anything, I want every dog in my care to feel safe, settled, and completely at home🐾 My days are flexible, so pet care slots in naturally rather than being squeezed around a rigid nine to five. I work from home, which means plenty of walks, playtime, and company throughout the day, dogs are never left alone. I can easily adjust to their feeding, walking, and rest routines. I live in a calm, spacious, dog-friendly home where pets have plenty of space to feel comfortable. I keep things clean and secure, with no open doors or hazards and a comfortable spot for them to rest. I stick to their usual routine so nothing feels unfamiliar, keep them leashed and close on walks, and pay attention to their mood and body language. I let them move at their own pace, give them space when they need it, and keep owners updated with messages and photos so everyone feels at ease.

Über: Ever since we were little, my sisters and I have grown up in a family environment surrounded by animals, visiting farms, looking after abandoned animals and, later on, adopting them. We’ve always had cats at home and looked after our friends’ dogs until, in 2010, my parents spotted a puppy from a litter and we kept it – it was one of the best moments of our childhood. Throughout my teenage years, I walked and looked after dogs and cats in people’s homes, so I have over 10 years’ experience. Mainly puppies, young dogs and middle-aged to older dogs Working at a hotel allows me to manage my time effectively, as I receive my work schedule two weeks in advance. This means I can plan my schedule accordingly and look after dogs and cats in the mornings, afternoons, or at weekends. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable and cared for. As I receive my work rota two weeks in advance, I can organise my free time around the pets I am looking after, whether that is in the mornings, afternoons or at weekends. I always follow the owner’s instructions and try to keep the pet’s normal routine as much as possible. I am patient, responsible and enjoy spending time with animals, making sure they receive plenty of attention, care and affection while their owners are away.

Über: I’ve been around animals my whole life, so taking care of them has always been something very natural to me. My parents have always worked with dogs, so I grew up surrounded by animals and caring for them from a very young age. I learned that animals are part of the family and that their care should always be a top priority. I’ve taken care of dogs of all ages, including older dogs, and I’ve also looked after very young kittens. When I was growing up, we often had litters of kittens at home, and sometimes I had to bottle-feed them when they didn’t have a mother and take care of them until they were old enough to grow up on their own. I’m also comfortable giving medication and I’m quite good at noticing when a cat or dog isn’t feeling well, even when something seems a little off. I absolutely love playing with animals and spending time with them, but for me, their care and wellbeing will always be the number one priority. I currently live in Germany and unfortunately don’t have any pets here, but in Spain my sister and I have four cats and a dog, who are a huge part of our family. I’ve always been very attached to the animals I’ve cared for, and I would always treat someone else’s pet with the same care and attention I give my own. I’m currently a student, but my studies are fully online, so I have a lot of flexibility in my daily routine. This means I’m available to take care of pets both during the week and on weekends, and I can easily adapt my schedule to their needs. I have plenty of time to give them the attention, care and company they need, whether that means going for walks, playing, feeding them or simply keeping them company at home. When I take care of a pet in their own home, I always try to keep their normal routine as much as possible. I know that it’s their home, not mine, so I want them to feel comfortable and safe while their owner is away. I will always follow the owner’s instructions and adapt to whatever the pet needs. I’m happy to follow their feeding times, give them medication, take them for walks, play with them or just keep them company. For me, the most important thing is making sure they are well looked after and that all their needs are taken care of.

Above all, I treat every animal as an individual and aim to provide a calm, safe, and stable environment while their owners are away. I also keep owners updated so they can feel fully at ease during the stay I work remotely full-time, which allows me to integrate pet care into my daily routine without any issues. This makes it easy for me to provide consistent attention and care throughout the day while maintaining a stable and calm environment for the pet. For cats, I am able to dedicate time during my workday for feeding, litter box care, and companionship, ensuring they are not left without attention for long periods. I can also provide overnight stays any day of the week when needed. For cat visits, I can come 1–2 times daily to take care of feeding, litter cleaning, and spending quality time with the cat. If required, I am also open to staying at the owner’s home during their absence, depending on individual arrangements and preferences. Whether I care for pets in my home or in the owner’s home, my approach is calm, structured, and focused on maintaining their normal routine. I strictly follow all feeding instructions, schedules, and care guidelines provided by the owner, as consistency is key for the pet’s wellbeing. In the owner’s home, I keep disruption to a minimum and focus on feeding, hygiene care, companionship, and ensuring the pet feels safe and comfortable. When pets stay with me, I maintain the same level of structure and attention, providing a calm environment, regular routines, and consistent care throughout the day. I adapt to each animal’s personality with patience and respect, always prioritizing their comfort and sense of security.
