Insurance question Do I need my own liability insurance to dog sit on Rover?

HI I am new to Rover. To : Other dog sitters: Do I need to carry any kind of liability insurance for dog sitting purposes on Rover??? Just want to be sure I have my bases covered. Thx so much!! Laura

The answer is YES you need your own insurance. The Rover guarantee MAY help with vet bills but may not, it also does not provide liability coverage in case anything wrong happens and a client decides to sue you. There are 5 primary Pet Sitter liability insurance companies for US-based businesses. All of the insurance carriers are responsive and respected.

Rates start around $130 a year depending on the services you offer and how many people you are covering and your level of deductible.
