Pain Points ... ?

I have been a Rover sitter for over 3 years now and really like the service. There are a few pain points though that I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing?

  1. I would love to have a text message reminding me of drop-off and pick-up times! Would anyone else find this helpful?

  2. It would also be so helpful to be able to see previous stay notes at the top of any repeat client's booking request. As it is now, I don't find Rover's sitter review notes to be helpful at all. Instead, I am keeping my own spreadsheet offline that tracks dogs, owners, personality notes, behavior notes, and any credits/discounts I have offered them. How is everyone else handling this?

  3. On the booking request, it would also be nice to see a count of bookings, date of the last booking, a count of actual stays (to track those clients that cancel often) and the reviews the client has left.

  4. One more thing, I get duplicate text messages on every Rover notification (except weekend open reminders). Does anyone know how I can stop duplicates?

Yes, all these things would be helpful! To me anyway, there's a usability issue. Rover needs to get actual users (sitters/owners) see what's working/not working/needs improvement and then TELL Rover's software designers what changes to make. I feel like the website/app's changes are being made by a bunch of guys people staring at computer screens and little to no knowledge of the actual business.

All great points, hopefully you are aware that Rover HQ rarely or ever come to this forum, so I would contact support and make the requests as they are good ones.

Q4 made me laugh because I actually like the double messages because I always know its Rover related, each message has a different tone, so it's the combination tone that alerts me, but that's just me

LOL, I like the double messages too. AND, my hubby's phone also alerts at the same time. Never have to wonder when Rover's "calling"!

I would love the pick up and drop off times to be on the calendar personally with an option to set up a reminder text. I never use the dog notes in Rover lol. Honestly, I have really good memory and can get reminded based on their profile and our communications so am kind of lax about taking notes in general. But if it was easier to do in Rover I would likely use it more. Regarding discounts I generally know that too but keep a spreadsheet to track in case I forget. I don't get duplicate text messages? I do get a message on my phone from the Rover app and a text message regarding every Rover message. If that's what you're talking about it can be annoying sometimes but mostly I don't mind because, like the others, the alert tone lets me know it's a Rover message.

I am 100% with Cindy and Stephen on having Rover users provide input on how it should work. Prior to this life I was responsible for the front end of an HR system and one of things I did was advise on how the front end should work. They should treat an upgrade like a Corporation would and get end-user engagement from the beginning. I could go on a soap box, given process and systems is my old world lol but I'll stop now. But boy would I love to get my hands on an overhaul project!!

You can scroll back through previous bookings - When on the INBOX screen —in the upper left corner of the app there is a file folder icon where you can see pending and upcoming Then if you tap the file folder icon it will bring up PAST and ARCHIVED. That’s where you can see cancelled ones.

I think you meant this comment for someone else? I didn't have a question on how to see the cancelled ones; if you put it in the wrong response thought I'd let you know if you want to let whomever you were trying to answer know. :)

I will tell you that they Rover folks gladly accept feedback on the app and its workings (or lack thereof). For instance, I wanted to know when I had more than one booking with a dog on the same day. So, I asked for the app to either show TWO entries for one dog, OR add on - a 1of 2 notation on the single looking entry.

It was disconcerting that you finish a booking, look down later and see it didn’t look like you had completed a booking. - it also threw off your day when you hadn’t mentally planned to go back to that owners house - cause the multi-walk day was planned a month ago and who remembers?

—-> Do you synch your Rover calendar with a calendar on your phone? I’ve found this to be enormously helpful. Since I have a couple of different calendars, I also use the app Fantasical 2 to consolidate all of my calendars into one easy to see deal. The only drawback, is that the booking comes in showing all day instead of the specfic time of day - and there isn’t a way to edit that in Fantastical2.

To get to communicate with Rover, contact support, you will have to go through a few screens of no it hasn’t solved my issue, and then it will let you send stuff. They allow you to attach pictures, reference a booking - stuff like that. Also explain what would help you work better - fix the issue. Analogies also are a huge help in communicating from the user to the coding wizards.
