Why does my booking rate go down with an absurd request and no show no call meet and greet?

So I got what would be my second job but it was for 2 weeks so I set up a meet and greet at my house. The owner never shows up; texts or calls. Then I notice my booking rate goes down because he was a flake? Really?

Definitely what Walt said. When I was new to Rover I was always looking at my booking score. I do think Rover may use it to assess in certain situations but overall it's just something for you to use to measure. I definitely recommend that you Archive the request and select "owner did not respond". My booking score used to be very good but lately has gone down to good, but there are many factors that go into that - I have had many requests where clients never responded, most people reach out to multiple sitters which means a few will not get the booking, and I've had people message me and asked me to sit on dates that I'm marked unavailable. There's also the random mess up where someone thinks I'm someone else or I'm outside the service radius. All of these reflect in the booking score; I know it's not a reflection on my dog care capabilities. Good luck!!

Thank you so very much for your explanation regarding my issue with booking and the booking rate. I was just making sure since I had one other person say they did not want to do a meet and greet. I have only had the one I thought was a great experience. The dog did too; the owner never gavereview

Since you are a new sitter don't be concerned about booking rates or any of the other performance scores as they have little meaning and are just a measure for you to see. https://support.rover.com/hc/en-us/ar...

Thanks so much for your answer to my question on the booking rate; I wanted to make sure the people looking at me as a sitter did not see it without explanations.

The scores only affect where you come up in search results (top, middle, or bottom of list) but if you are doing your own outside advertisements and promotional work then it really doesn't matter where you come up in the search results because your potential clients will be using your profile link and code.
