I received a $20 referral reward and credit, but how do I use it?

My friend (who lives across the country) recently completed her first booking using my link, thus I've received a $20 Rover credit. I thought that meant that, as a sitter, I'd receive $20 dollars. Instead, the money just shows up as a gift card and I'm not sure how to use it considering I do not have a pet and don't need to book another sitter for anything. Is the $20 added to my pay next time someone books me? Or is this just a lost cause? If so, I have no incentive to get people to sign up unless they live near me.

I just did a search for the same question, "what is a rover credit" and nothing showed up. Certainly this would have an answer somewhere, anyone?

First time I've heard about a Rover gift card for someone using your promo code, but Rover changes things up to make it interesting, don't they? Might be worth a phone call to support to see if it can be converted to cash.

The promo "give $20, get $20" details say you will get a $20 CREDIT to use for your next booking. Without a pet, you get nothing. You could try calling Rover to see if they will send merch from their store worth $20. Or, book a walker and ask them if they are cool just washing your dishes for the money they charge for a walk. I'd do it!
