Why is my background check taking so long?
I submitted a $10 background check a couple weeks ago and it still hasn't came back yet. It said it would only take about 5 days.

I am having the same issue, I get e-mails from rover but noting about my profile.

They seem to be having an issue. Today I received a "Day 2" email which is what you receive after your profile goes live. Then a followup "oops" email. Something seems wrong with that "new sitter" process.
All sitters received that "oops". I've been with Rover for over a year and I got it, too.
Does it cost money? I don't recall paying for mine. It took 10-12 days for my profile to go live.
